Stencil set showing a woman in partial profile pointing a rifle to viewers right. The woman wears a wrap on her head, blouse, long skirt and sandals. Stencils are installed as a set of twelve: three layers deep; three rectangles high in one stack (parts a-c, e-g, i-k) with additional rectangle at the upper right (parts d, h, l), showing the end of the gun. Each stencil layer was aerosol painted with a different colour - light taupe, dark taupe, and black.

Small sculpted stone. Mottled dark green-black and light green. Shaped like a capital 'T', with two holes drilled through the smaller rectangular section. On the reverse side, the smaller section sticks out like a lip, and the main rectangular body is slightly concave.

Shawl3248/1

Light brown shawl woven from twisted plant fibre, with dark brown and red-brown dyed fibre incorporated into the weave and used to create patterning. Patterns are in horizontal lines running the length of the shawl and include ladders and diamonds, among other motifs. Long dense fringe is looped at one end, and cut at the other.

Wooden figure of a cat, in a crouched walking position with its head low, triangular ears angled back. Nose is long and protruding, cheeks rounded. Eyes are painted in white, red, black and yellow, with long white lashes. Mouth and nose are yellow and red, with white whiskers. Tail (part b) is long and thick and sits loosely in a hole at the back of the body. Cat is painted black with a regular pattern of light blue and red spots and small yellow dots; end of tail is painted bright green.

Wooden figure of an animal. Creature is in a standing position, legs made of separate pieces of wood attached with small metal nails. Tail is long and wide, extending straight out from the body. Neck is thick and head is held high, with large leaf shaped ears (including part b) set into small holes bored high on the head. Animal’s mouth is open, nostrils incised above. Green and white painted eyes sit on the sides of the head. Creature is painted red with a dense pattern of small white and large blue dots covering body and tail. Face has small light yellow lines and detailing in green and black.

Wooden figure of a cat. Animal is in a laying position, with front feet stretching out, back feet bent at sides, tail held out behind, all separate pieces of wood attached with small metal nails. Head is held high on a thick neck and angled slightly to the side with ears perked. Features are painted on a red base, black spots placed evenly along the neck, torso and tail, with smaller on the face. Eyes are wide and yellow. Black nose, whiskers and mouth have been painted as well.

Paper mache figure of a leopard. Cat is in a walking position with head and tail held low. Mouth is open, and white plastic canine teeth are prominent. Translucent plastic fibres are inserted into small holes above the mouth to create long whiskers. Eyes are plastic and inset into the head. Leopard is painted a dark yellow with large spots around centre of body, small spots on head and extremities.

Wooden figure of an animal. Creature is carved from several pieces of wood, with torso and head one piece, legs each separate pieces nailed onto the body. Tail is wide and held up at a slight angle. Neck curves upward, mouth open as if animal is calling. The large leaf shaped ears are inset and glued into the head, sticking out to either side. White, green and black eyes surrounded by long lashes are painted onto either side of the head. The body is painted red with a dense covering of small light blue dots overpainted by larger dark blue dots. Face has short lines of green and black.

Wooden figure of an animal. Creature is carved from several pieces of wood, with torso and head one piece, legs each separate pieces nailed onto the body in a wide stance. Tail (part b) is long and tapered at end. The large leaf shaped ears (parts c and d) fit into small holes bored high on the head. Animal’s mouth is open, with tongue emerging, white teeth painted along the edges. Nostrils are incised above. Eyes sit on the sides of the head and are painted white, green and blue. The body is bright pink overall with large patches of black.
