Sections of thin bamboo laced into a long, conical basket with twined cord Attached around the inside of the open end of the conical basket are short bamboo sections laced together so that they angle towards the centre of the cone; the short segments are angled in such a way that they create a small passage allowing material into the basket, but not out.

Kimono JacketN2.213 a

Man's haori (羽織) or jacket/overcoat with small check pattern paired with kimono (N2.213 b). The neck and centre opening are edged with a wide patterned band. The sleeves are short with hanging panels and an opening under the arms. The pattern has small white squares on brown ground. The patterned inner lining known as gaku’ura (額裏) is light brown silk with a river scene in black and covers only the upper part of the haori.

Dark blue kimono with gray striped pattern. The neck and centre opening are edged with a wide patterned band. The sleeves are short with hanging panels and an opening under the arms. The pattern repeats a vertical thick stripe, comprised of six thin gray lines on dark blue ground. The inner shoulder area is lined with gray cotton, the rest of the kimono is unlined.
