Textile3612/8

Rectangular textile with dense embroidered floral designs on a beige background. The textile is composed of three lengths of beige fabric stitched together along the long edges. In the centre are three large red and brown-red flowers surrounded by smaller red flowers. The centre section and outer section are separated by a rectangular border of small red flowers with green stems. The outer section has more large red and brown-red flowers, that wrap around the centre rectangle. This section is also bordered by small flowers, but in a dark brown-red colour with green stems. The back lining is composed of sections of floral fabric stitched together. The textile is edged with a beige fabric with geometric designs in dark blue, red and light brown, folded over the edge and sewn with both a running stitch and whip stitch in yellow or orange thread.

Dress3596/1

Long-sleeved woman's dress with a gathered skirt. Dress closes at neck with four silver buttons extending down bodice to waist. Front of dress consists of a panel with hemmed sides; stitching is done in a wavy line. Bottom edge of panel, along waistline, is decorated with a band of alternating circular and triangular beads; large silver button in centre. Band, with similar wavy stitching, circles front and sides of dress; back of dress, where gathered skirt secures to bodice, is exposed. Dress cuffs are trimmed with light pink cloth with blue flowers. Dress is red with bunches of pink and white flowers throughout; flowers have green-blue leaves and long stems.

Small ceramic animal with four legs, two pointed ears, and long snout that curves upward at the tip. Figure has three-dimensional eyes on either side of its head, and a tail that wraps around its right hind leg; nostrils and mouth incised on end of snout. There are circular openings in the centre of eyes, imitating pupils. Two three-dimensional bands are draped over the figure's back, below the neck and above the hind legs; bands have dots imprinted across them. Artist mark imprinted on belly.

Figure has three-dimensional eyes on either side of its head, and a tail that wraps around its right hind leg; square cutout imitates nose, and nostrils and mouth are incised underneath cutout. There are circular openings in the centre of eyes, imitating pupils. Two inverted hearts are incised on either sides of its body, below the neck. Eyes and nose are painted black; stripes painted along length of horn(?). Artist mark imprinted on belly.

Lime Press3570/4

Wooden lime press. Two similar-shaped sides are held together by a metal hinge, nailed into the ends of each side. Each side has a rectangular end with a smaller round handle. One side has a circular depression inside the rectangular area, with small holes drilled through the bottom; the corresponding spot on the other side has a circular protrusion with a metal nail(?) in the centre. The round wooden handles have traces of red and dark beige paint near the ends.

Kohl Container3570/5

Small brass kohl container. Round petal-like opening at the top which narrows at the neck to a small opening. The outer surface has a series of bands in the metal that expand to the widest point near the centre. The widest part appears to be where the upper and lower sections were joined, and have a rounded petal-like edge protruding all the way around. The piece then narrows again at the stem, then widens to a round base.

Teapot3570/2 a-b

Small, round, Multan pottery teapot (part a) with lid (part b). Uneven blue glaze with uncoloured patches, covered in clear glaze. Lower section and base are unglazed. Spout on one side, handle on the other side. Inside of teapot and top of round lid are glazed in the same pattern. Lid has a small knob on top.
