An irregular fragment in two pieces that combines brown plain weave cotton with predominantly yellow camelid (alpaca?) weft-faced weaves. The largest piece (part a) has a yellow diamond-shaped, double headed serpent design in supplementary weft weaving, with accents in red and dark yellow. There is a narrow band of birds in a 5 colour complementary warp weave; red, black, white and two yellows. Weft-faced stripes of red and yellows flank the bird band. One colour is completely deteriorated between the red and yellow stripes, exposing the warp threads. The spinning and weaving are very uneven. One third of the fabric, the area of terminal weaving, is very loosely beaten. All selvedges are complete and there are no signs of sewing to another fabric. Z-spun, 2 plied s yarns.
A fragmentary slit tapestry yoke in 3 shades of yellow, red and accents of white and black. Existing fragment is roughly the shape of a stepped triangle. 5 red and yellow bands outline the stepped hypotenuse and the interior is filled with 18 crested birds, arranged in rows. Colours of birds (predominantly red and yellow) alternate along rows. The bird crest is almost as elaborate as the body but it lacks feet. White tassel with purple wrapping is sewn to tapestry and a loose orange feather adheres to the surface. Heading cord in place along short side. Cut warps extend from stepped tapestry edge. Z-spun singles for weft yarn, z-spun, 2 plied s for warp yarns.

The white textile is long, narrow and unfinished with flaring ends. The two ends are dissimilar in colour and pattern. One end has four woven bands of triangles and diamonds in red, yellow and black. The other end has seven narrow bands of yellow, green and red interspaced with seven dark red bands. The bands show zoomorphic designs in black. The ends are woven in combination weft faced plain weave, complementary and supplementary weft weaves using camelid. Except for the ends and the unwoven section, the cotton warps are plain woven with cotton wefts. Z-spun, 2 ply s yarn.
