The handle tip curves back and has a slightly smaller, flaring cylindrical tip that has been burnt to a dark brown finish. Nearly one third of the way up the handle from the bowl is a segment that flares outwards from its slightly narrower centre, and this segment has also been burnt to a dark brown finish. The edge of the bowl rim is also dark brown.
