Effigy Figure3275/7 a-c

Wooden male figure in standing position, with two large, flat feet, its knees slightly bent. Head is large with a carefully carved face. Mouth is a thin line, a small nose protrudes above, eyes are almond shaped and made of bone with a small hole carved at centre. Ears have two anterior curls, and have remnants of blue paint at back. Upper arms hang at sides, with forearms and hands (parts b and c) separate pieces that attach at elbows to allow positioning at an upward angle. A loin cloth is wrapped around figure’s waist, mainly brown-grey in colour with a stripe of orange around the waistband. Cloth covers a prominent phallus.

Large dark brown wooden spoon. Handle of spoon has carved male human figure. From waist down on the figure there is a large hand wrapped around the figure with carved knuckles and fingernails. Neck of spoon tapers below figure and is incised with decorative carving. Bowl of spoon is wide and shallow; it tapers and curves up at the end. Raised spine in centre of bowl of spoon.

Large wooden dish with skinny horseshoe-shaped handles. Handles are rounded square shapes with a hollowed out centre. Dish is in the shape of a half cylinder with a flat bottom and bowl is a carved out rectangle with raised edges. Exterior of bowl has an incised pattern of ‘X’s and crosses on both long sides of bowl. Bottom of bowl is a raised rectangle.

Large wooden dish with long thick handles. Dish portion is in the shape of a half-cylinder with rounded bottom and carved out interior. The interior is carved out in the shape of a triangle with steep sides that meet in the bottom. The handles are carved in the shape of an animal head, possibly a bovine with horns. There is an incised animal figure on the bottom of dish in the shape of a lizard, as well as an incised border all the way around bottom of cylinder. There are six holes on bottom of dish.

Dark brown wooden dish with handle. Top portion of dish has wide rounded curves on both sides of protruding long skinny handle. Interior top portion of dish has a spine in the centre. Handle is long and flat on top with a wider rounded end with a notch at the top. Body portion of dish is wide at the top, tapers in and slightly widens at the bottom with an angled edge at bottom and flat edges all the way around. Smooth polished surface all over dish.
