Lace Doily1712/14

A hand made circular lace doily. A solid piece of commercially woven cloth forms the inner circle. A hand crocheted lace band containing two kinds of flowers alternating, and surrounding the central cloth which is bordered by a crocheted band. An airy outer scallop design forms the outer rim. One of the flower designs is a six-petalled flower while the other flower design is only on the top side of the doily and is a four petalled-fllower with a leaf(?) stretching to each side of the flower.

Lace Doily1712/13

A hand made circular lace doily. The main concentric abstract design is consisting of a central eight petalled flower, surrounded by a narrow band, surrounded by a very airy abstract design, surrounded by a solid band made of ten half circles, each end of which leads to a six-petalled flower; ten of these six-petalled flowers of which are contained in scalloped protuberances, which form the outer rim, each of these protuberances has seven scallops surrounding each flower.

Hat737/2

A woman's red cotton twill cap, trimmed around the face with white lace frill and having multi-coloured embroidered ribbon with floral motifs, rickrack, and braid decorating the hat horizontally around the middle. The main design is consisting of the following from top to bottom: a pattern of sideways red tulip-like pairs on a white background, an orange-green floral pattern on a red background, and a blue diamond-shaped pattern with red centres. The crown is gathered onto a 9 cm. headband with small ear flaps. There are ties under chin with twisted fibre strings. Headband is lined with cotton broadcloth. Edges are bound with cotton bias tape.

A woman's multi-coloured woven belt with repeated geometric designs of red, green, and off-white predominating. Lined and stiffened with light weight white cotton duck. Fastened with a small brass buckle attached with a leather tab while the opposite end has a narrower strip that has a deisgn consisting or a red zig zag along the middle on an off-white background surrounded by a blue dotted line at either side and outlined with a horizontal red band.

Shoes1128/15 a-b

Ankle-high reindeer fur shoes (part a-b) with up-turned toes and multicoloured laces. The shoes are made of white fur with brown fur soles. The foot opening is edged with brown skin. The six loops on each tongue are also made with brown skin. Criss-crossed through the tongue loops is a long multicoloured string. The string is made up of red, yellow-green and blue strands. On the ends there are square tassels in red, yellow and green.

Tunic1128/14

Woman’s reindeer fur tunic. The tunic has a standing collar, v-neck opening and long sleeves. The tunic hangs straight from the shoulders in front and is semi-fitted across the back, flared below the waist by means of triangular gores. There is a pocket slit in the left front lined with a red checked fabric. The collar is trimmed with multicoloured ribbon, rickrack and red wool fabric. There are red and yellow wool strips inserted into shoulder, sleeve and back seams for decoration and stability. The sleeve ends are trimmed with red wool fabric strips. The hem is unfinished.
