Water dipper with a flat-bottomed aluminum bowl and plain wooden handle; handle is secured to back of bowl with nails and a piece of plastic(?). Exterior of bowl decorated with raised designs; top and bottom edges have braided lines, main body is decorated with repeating floral motif. Space between braids and flowers is filled with small impressed triangles; curvilinear and triangle motifs throughout. Manufacturer's mark engraved on base of bowl.
Water dipper with a coconut shell bowl and carved wooden handle. Tip of handle is drilled into back of bowl, extending towards centre; secured with a rod that curves along interior of wall. Tip is decorative and consists of two triangles framing a thin spire. Deep grooves carved around middle of spire; semi-circle designs across triangles. Long handle has straight sides and bottom; top has multiple curves with grooves notched across length.
Pair of small silver hook-style earrings. Main bodies of earrings are circular and have protruding floral motifs in the centre and along the outer edges. Flower designs consist of a central ball surrounded by rings; flower in centre of earrings has an additional border of arches. Negative space between flowers is filled with small balls. Backs of earrings are concave and undecorated.
Pair of flower-shaped metal buckles or ornaments, with rounded edges; small holes drilled into top edges. Centres of ornaments have undecorated knobs; rest of surface is covered with engravings. Knob is bordered by a looped line and petal-like design. Larger petals, making up buckle, are covered in panels that alternate between butterfly and floral motifs; negative space between designs and edges of panel is filled with cross-hatching. Panels and edges of buckle are trimmed with bands filled with looped lines. Backs of buckles are undecorated.
Elevated wooden betel nut box (part a), with divided tray sections and a drawer in the front (part b); walls of tray curve upward towards the centre. Outer sides of box are covered in raised carvings. Designs on sides of tray are floral, with central vine-like carvings, inside of rectangles; rectangles are bordered with triangles. Sides on lower half of box are decorated with rows of concentric diamonds, above floral motifs. All sides of box are black, trimmed with pink; motifs are pink and yellow. Small circular and semi-circular cutouts in centre on all sides, along bottom edge. Front of drawer (part b) is decorated with bands of concentric diamonds and diamonds with a Greek key motif; done in black, pink, yellow, and dark brown. Interior of box is undecorated, interior of tray top and drawer are black.
A bamboo plunge trap used for catching fish. The trap is shaped like an inverted cone, with a narrow top and wide bottom. It has a thick, circular, wooden rim at the top. Bamboo strips are joined to the rim and extend downward, growing farther apart as the distance increases. Near the rim, there are two bamboo rings, one on the inside, and one on the outside of the trap. Metal wire is woven across both rings, securing the bamboo strips in between them. Four more bamboo rings are positioned inside of the trap, and secured to the bamboo strips by metal wire. The rings grow larger the farther they extend from the rim. Between the third and fourth bamboo rings, there is a thicker, darker, rounded ring secured in place by five bamboo wedges. At this point the trap bends more sharply, so that the bamboo strips are all parallel to one another as they reach the bottom of the trap. Near the bottom, a sixth, ring made of metal wire has been woven around the bamboo strips to further secure them. The end of each bamboo strip comes to a point.
A fishing basket with a round rim and square base. The basket is woven from thin, flat strips of bamboo about half a centimetre wide. The strips are lighter in the centre and darker on the edges, and plaited in a diagonal, criss-crossing pattern which continues until the rim of the basket. The weave is open, with centimetre large gaps between the strips. The rim is braided from multiple strips, and approximately two centimetres wide. At the bottom centre of the basket, two thicker pieces of bamboo are crossed in an X shape. The rim of the basket is a braided band od the same
