Print depicting Chief Red Bear of the Arapahoe Nation. A three-part steel lock. The first piece (part a) is the modern steel lock, #F37, master lock co. The second piece (part b) is the locking bar for the lock. The third piece (part c) is the key on a key ring that has a brown quadrangular-shaped label with two green-painted characters on one side while there are two black-painted characters on the other side.
Necklace of beads, snakes and cross. 96 cylindrical red glass beads and 91 smaller round flat white beads alternate in a pattern. 4 double snake and 4 single snake pendants alternate between the beads on the lower half of the necklace. The double snakes cross over at two points. All snakes are attached to bead strand by rings through the mouth. They are etched with cross pattern along their length. A Lorraine cross with cloverleaf terminals hangs from the centre point. A sunburst is engraved in the centre of the top bar. Curvilinear marks on vertical and lower horizontal bar. Maker’s mark JA on snakes and AB in a circle on lower bar of cross.
Necklace of 60 light blue glass beads in groups of 4 and 2, alternating with 16 cobalt blue glass beads and 6 cylindrical yellow glass beads,. 6 hollow silver beavers with bottom plates are attached at regular intervals to lower half of necklace. A flat silver Latin cross with circle and zigzag border is attached at bottom midpoint. One cobalt blue bead is broken. Maker’s mark in cartouche on beavers and on cross. The crown is above the “TE”.
Pair of earrings (only one shown). Each composed of a disc with a stylized tree form hanging from it. Small loop but no hook.
Half armband with four perforations for ties. Slightly rolled border on top and bottom. First Nations person full profile figure with bow and arrow engraved in centre. Maker’s mark stamped on bottom right corner.
A pierced and engraved half headband with scalloped border. Engraved and pierced centre decoration attached with copper rivets to row of large teeth. Ribbon at each end.
Necklace of 101 glass beads and 5 hollow turtles strung on wire. There are 90 small red cylindrical beads and 11 barrel-shaped fancy “eye” and “stripe” beads. The small beads are separated at intervals by the barrel-shaped beads, 9 of which are predominantly pink and 2 predominantly black. The turtles all have zigzag engraving on backs and are spaced at intervals through lower half of necklace. The large turtle has engraved circles for eyes and two holes pierced in nose. The small turtles have embossed eyes and are strung through the nose. Large turtle is strung through pierced holes in front feet. All turtles have maker’s marks on back.
Flat round pendant with a cutout heart and a cutout Latin cross within the heart. Engraving on the pendant includes cones and pine needles. Zigzag engraving around the edge. There are two necklace holders at the top of the pendant. Necklace strung with blue and white beads. Maker’s mark on pendant.
Ring with a rectangular piece engraved with a heart.
