Glazed dark brown, white clay bowl with small ring foot. Rim edge and ribbing on the side are a lighter brown.

Wooden mallet. Rectangular head has two curved lines carved into both ends and concave indents on both of the wider side hitting surfaces. At the bottom end of the handle is a small face with raised eyes and carved nostrils and mouth.

A shaman mask, carved by Coast Salish artist George Pennier, in alder, painted with acrylic paint and with black human hair. The mask has upward turned eyes rimmed with red, heavy black eyebrows, and an open mouth with protruding tongue. Signed on the reverse of the mask and dated 1990. The mask was carved by a Coast Salish artist, George Pennier, a resident of Chilliwack, B.C. The style of the mask is Northern rather than Coast Salish, attributed to the fact some artists carve in styles that are not necessarily their own tribal group. The upturned eyes and protruding tongue represent a shaman in a trance, part of shamanic ritual during spirit quests and curing ceremonies. Shamanism, and its representation in art forms, is udergoing a hidden revival on the Northwest Coast indigenous community. Silkscreen print, in red, black and pale blue on white background, with design of three Coho salmon circling round a small eagle design in the centre. Two of the salmon have teeth and are therefore male, while the one without teeth is female. Theeagle design is the same as the eagle on the ceremonial drum, and is in red and black. Silkscreen prints are a recent development in Northwest Coast Native art, but they incorporate traditional design techniques and subject matter. Skirt that is part of a three-pece outfit with a blouse (part a) and head wrap (2590/2 c). The fabric has a repeating pattern of blue flowers or pinwheel shapes in the background, and rows of red, blue and white squares with an elephant in blue outline within them, along with text in English. These squares alternate with red text written in Twi. The skirt is ankle-length with an elastic waistband and a 45.3 cm slit up both sides. It is lined with white cotton fabric.

An oil lamp made of low-fired ceramic with a roughly applied shiny green glaze over a buff-coloured body, which shows on the base. The top of the lamp is bowl-shaped, placed on a cylinder that flares towards the bottom, which is in the shape of a low saucer. There is a decorative ring slightly more than halfway up the cylinder.
