Pendant in the shape of a stylized female figure (hei tiki) with geometric patterns. The figure's head is tilting to her right. The circular eyes are inlaid with abalone (paua). The figure's right arm is at the waist; the left arm is at the face; legs are crossed. Four holes are bored through the figure, two at the arms and two at the legs. An off-white cord threads through the two arm holes; the cord closes with an bone screw clasp.

Face is bordered on three sides by a band of carved human faces, hands and feet: small human faces are partially painted blue, with black eyes and eyebrows; hands and feet are red; in between the small faces are pieces of abalone shell.

Headdress with a frontlet with a bear design, painted blue around eyes, red mouth, fore and hind limbs, inlaid with abalone shell pieces. Abalone around bear, and extra row at each side. Headdress has sea lion whiskers at top, and ermine skins around head. Long cape with ermine pelts at back. Red cloth or black fibre, tied to some skins.
