Miniature carved figure of a man wearing a parka; figure is missing its head and right arm. There is tape around the torso, holding the remaining arm in place.
A flat fan made of finely-split bamboo flaring out from its attachment point to a long wood handle painted black. Perimeter of fan is circular except for the lower edge where the handle is attached which is straight and at right angles to the handle. Fan is covered with lacquered paper that has a design of three swirls converging at the centre coloured red-orange, black, and yellow. It has a narrow edging of black paper. The fan is inserted into a split in the handle which is flat and shaped like a pointed oval where it covers the fan, which is attached with two rivets. The shape of the handle is repeated with an outline of orange paint on the fan.
Pair of men's shoes, slip-on style, with squared toes, and pointed tongues as well as heel backs. The uppers are cut from one piece of tan leather edged with narrow strips of tan leather and attached by thin green leather stitching. Separate triangular leather reinforcements at upper heels are also stitched with green leather. A thick sole is formed by glued layers of leather with extra layers forming the heel and half sole at the front of each shoe. Upper are glued and sewn with a thick strand of fibrous jute (?) string.
Pair of women's cowhide shoes (a-b) with soles made of multi-layered light brown leather sewn together. Pink dyed leather upper with multi-coloured cotton embroidery on toe area, in radiating V-shaped pattern. Leather edging is fastened by off-white stitches. A triangular piece of leather with one edge toothed is attached at the top edge of the upper. Multi-layered sole is glued.
A small flat, rectangular fan with two lobes at the top. On a frame of very fine bamboo strips radiating out from the centre of the lower edge where the handle is mounted. Both sides are covered with paper and are lacquered green with a painted black design like a paper cut around near the handle are mounting, enclosing an orange painted design shaped like a half-marquise. Straight wood handle is painted red and split to allow insertion of fan.
Part of a woman’s ornamental headdress (see also Ee70 a-b). The headdress (called the perak) is a long (69 cm), straight, narrow (9 cm tapering to 5.5 cm) strip, shaped like a cobra snake with a broad head and long, narrow tail, made of several layers of stiffened cotton textile or felt that is covered with red cotton textile. The head of the cobra is embellished with irregularly shaped stones that have been stitched to the surface (thirty-three pieces of turquoise and green malachite, along with four pieces of agate, two of which are surrounded by rings of turquoise inlay), and two silver kagu or amulets. The body and tail of the cobra are embellished with three long, vertical rows of white cowrie shells, and there is a small brass bell at the tip of the tail. Permanently hand stitched to the left side of the tail of the perak is a rectangular piece (9.8 cm x 33 cm) of similar design, called the chuti. It is embellished with nine vertical rows of coral beads, accented with lapis and jet beads; at the top of the chuti, there is a rectangular amulet with turquoise inlay and gold leaf. An oval shaped piece of agate in a silver setting is at the base of the chuti. On the underside of the headdress, at about the middle of the tail of the perak, a strip of metallic silver mesh, reinforced by stiff cotton textile, is affixed; there is a small silver hook at one end of the mesh strip and a small brass hook at the other end. Demonstration backstrap loom (part a) with various attached and/or removable pieces (parts b-n). Part a: loom with front and back wooden loom bars with natural multi-ply cotton string warps attached; strings in dyed green and orange interwoven along inside edges of bars; dyed brown weft string interwoven for 13 rows of plain weave, the end of the weft yarn is attached to a pointed stick which is notched for attached yarn at other end. Dyed blue string attached to loom bars and interwoven to lengthwise selvedges. Part b: slightly curved heddle rod of shaved beige stick tied and wrapped by warp from weaving. Part c: separate shaved beige lease stick or bobbin with angled ends and longitudinal splits. Part d: slightly curved shed stick loosely resting in warp. Part e: separate wooden stick loom bar with knotted end. Part f: lease stick with numerous pin point holes, a rounded end, split 4.5 cm. in from end, other end is burnt and beveled. Part g: bamboo lease stick or heddle rod. Part h: separate wooden batten sword with pointed, triangular ends, rounded along one length, tapering to other side. Part i: separate large dark wooden loom bar with notched ends. Parts j and k: wooden support sticks around which green and orange string is attached. Green string loops (tied and glued) hold j to loom bar farthest from weaving. Part l: separate grey/white synthetic rope, burnt at ends with single knot near one end. Parts m and n: carved light wooden shuttles with pointed ends, carved out section with pointed stick through centre, two points at other end, 'J.L.' carved near end.

Left arm rests near long curved sword, attached to waist with silk cord. Quiver with five arrows on back. Figure made of straw, has white ceramic face and black fibre wig, dressed in gold silk brocade, with armour of gold coloured metal lamellae laced with red and pale blue silk and brown leather. Horse (part b) of paper mache(?) is covered in imitation grey fur. Brown glass eyes. Reins of purple and white diagonal striped silk, bridle and long body fringe of red silk, saddle of leather, lacquer, silk and fur.
Wooden, rectangular cabinet shrine (a); open side has inner and outer set of doors, hinged at the sides, each door also hinged in the middle. Painted and lacquered black and gold, with brass trim; outer doors have gold-painted panels; inner doors have slats covered with fine cloth net. Carved panel with phoenix painted gold over inner doors. Inside is shelf with four pillars, under which are three panels with scenes. Drawers (b-c) in lower part of shrine; b has lacquered panel with scene; c is black with brass knob. Lacquered wooden tablet (d) is resting on a carved golden lotus, on two legs with eight Chinese characters.
