Container3512/36

Tortoise shell snuff container with strands of twine extending from the top edge; twine decorated with beads made of plant fibre and ostrich egg shells. An apron-like cover, made of rabbit skin, is secured around the front of the tortoise shell. It is tied in place with straps knotted through holes drilled in the back of the shell. Additional straps remain loose. Hanging from the bottom edge of the rabbit skin are rows of alternating plant fibre and ostrich egg shell beads. Back of shell is uncovered; brown-red plant fibre is adhered to the back bottom edge. Interior of shell is stuffed with plant fibre.

Paper mache Day of the Dead mask. Humanoid male with sunken eyes, a wide nose, and rounded face. Black curl painted along top edge of mask, in centre of forehead and in between thin eyebrows. Curl imitates hair. Black fuzzy fabric glued to sides of face and above mouth, imitating sideburns and chevron moustache. Face is painted pink beige, and nostrils and lips are red-pink. Eyes are blue, with black trim around them and their irises. Four gold-coloured teeth glued to top lip. Holes in mask for eyes, nose and mouth. Eye holes are oval-like and in between the painted eyes and eyebrows. Holes drilled into either side of mask, with an elastic cord knotted through. Inscription written inside mask.

Multiple black curls painted along top edge of mask, in centre of forehead and in between bushy eyebrows. Curls are imitating hair. Black fuzzy fabric glued to sides of face and above mouth, imitating sideburns and handlebar moustache. Black dot painted on chin. Face is painted pink beige, and nostrils and lips are red-pink. Eyes are light blue, with black trim around them and their irises. Long eyelashes are done in black. Four gold-coloured teeth glued to top lip. Holes in mask for eyes, nose and mouth. Eye holes are oval-like and in between the painted eyes and eyebrows. Holes drilled into either side of mask, with an elastic cord knotted through. Inscription written inside mask.

Fish Spear3393/7

A short, cylindical, wooden fish spear with two sets of barbs. The spear is painted black and comes to a sharp point. Both sets of barbs are arranged in a triangular fashion around the shaft of the spear, in groups of three. The barbs are straight, with four sides, and point backwards in the direction of the spear's user. They are secured by wound string, also painted black. Wrapped around the middle of the spear is a white, rectangular piece of bark cloth. A design has been painted onto the cloth in black, and consists of circles and dots in a radiating pattern.

Qur'an3397/1

Illuminated Qur’an with script written in black ink. Covers made of brown leather, with incised and painted decorations. Spine made of painted cloth. Front cover has a raised, inner border, outlined in black paint on the outer edge and a wide band of gold leaf along the inner edge. Alternating incised lines and dots along the raised portion. Lines done in black, circles in gold. In the centre of the cover is a raised oval, with pointed ends, outlined in gold and black. Black curvilinear motifs across surface of oval, with impressed dots on each side. Dots are filled with gold leaf. Back cover has a raised, inner border, outlined in black and gold on either side. Covers lined with paper. Each page of the Qur’an has lines of script, with floral motifs throughout sentences, bordered by simple black and gold lines. The first two pages are highly decorated. Motifs are done in gold and blue, with pink, red, white and orange highlights throughout. Designs include curvilinear lines, feathers, flowers and arrows. Gold, red and blue decorative bands, with floral motifs, divide sections of text. Some pages have curvilinear designs along the edges. Designs are done in gold, blue and red, and filled with floral motifs. Pencil inscription on last page.

Folder that holds set of 12 posters (3451/1-12). Consists of two pieces of matboard, taped together. Front has a blue sticker, with dark purple formline designs, in the bottom right corner. Quote by Duncan Campbell Scott overtop, printed in light blue, with orange lines and stars throughout. Light brown interior pocket, to hold posters, attached to back piece of matboard.

The skeleton has white hair, made from a cotton ball, and its head is attached to its body via a metal spring. The skeleton's clothes are painted on, and consist of a yellow shirt and long black skirt. The beer bottle is yellow, and has two red X's on the label. The skeleton is standing on a square, dark green base.
