Floor Tile3076/17

Two clay floor tiles mounted on a wooden plinth. One tile is a wide, low, hexagon, light yellow in colour. Its surface is relatively smooth, with gouges along some of the edges. A white inclusion in the clay sits at centre. The other tile is octagonal in shape, thicker than the other, and light orange in colour. Its surface is smooth with a very slight shine.

Sherd3076/16

Large pottery sherd attached to a wooden plinth. Sherd appears to have been from the shoulder of a vessel. Bottom portion is slightly curved, painted with 4 designs of concentric circles. The neck of the pot flares outward and is painted with a row of three concentric circles bordered by a thick line. On the back of the piece at top are three thin black lines. All edges of the object are broken.

Small clay handmade pot with spout and handle. Pot is globular, with a rounded bottom and large hole at top. A small spout protrudes high on the shoulder, with a loop handle opposite. Incised decorations encircle the upper portion of the vessel: zig zags on shoulder, and a finer line of the same above that are interspersed with small stamped circles.

Walrus Figure3040/102

Carving of a walrus in stone. The hind flippers are tucked under the walrus' body and the body is resting on the front flippers. Walrus has incised eyes and nostrils. Tusks are attached by glue. Stone is dark grey with black horizontal bands.

Rectangular piece of stone onto which has been glued a carving of a snow house with an entrance porch. Beside the house is a dog (part b - previously glued on, no longer attached) with its tail curled onto its back. Incised into the rectangular base is 'Arctic Bay 1951'.
