Platter3261/88

Large oval argillite platter with shell inlay around the top of the outer edge. The centre of the platter is concave and completely covered with a design of a large, central, sculpin face, with a human on each side of it in profile, facing inward. The rim had sixteen evenly spaced oval shell inlays, but seven shells holes are empty.

Paper mache figure of a leopard. Cat is in a walking position with head and tail held low. Mouth is open, and white plastic canine teeth are prominent. Translucent plastic fibres are inserted into small holes above the mouth to create long whiskers. Eyes are plastic and inset into the head. Leopard is painted a dark yellow with large spots around centre of body, small spots on head and extremities.

Square tile of fibreboard with clay patterns on front. A border is made of alternating ‘x’ and ‘o’ shapes, small circles of mirror inserted into the centre of each ‘o’. At centre of tile is a daisy shape with mirrors inside each petal, surrounded by a circle with drop shapes extending toward the outside. Fine silver sparkles have been adhered intermittently across the surface of the tile. Rear side is undecorated.

Square tile of fibreboard with clay patterns on front. A border is made of alternating ‘x’ and ‘o’ shapes, small circles of mirror inserted into the centre of each ‘o’. At centre of tile is a diamond made up of small squares, a mirror at the centre of each. Flowers decorate the edges of the diamond. Pencil marks are visible under and around some of the clay decorations. Rear side is undecorated.

Small standing figure. Figure's eyes and mouth are similarly formed - oval-shaped with an incised line down the centre. The figure wears large ear spools, and a cloth wrapped around the waist. There are incised lines along the figure's hairline. The figure is missing its left arm, and has a short, tapered right arm. The legs are wide at the hips, but taper in towards the feet. Both legs have been previously repaired.

Small head of a figure, which broke off at the neck. The figure has large ears protruding from each side of the head, and a large nose. The eyes, mouth and vertical lines on each cheek are lightly incised. Extending back from the top of the head is a large circular headpiece. Fragment of a larger object.

Small stone net weight. The stone is smoothed, with four equally spaced indents around the side giving it a cross-like appearance. The top is a concave bowl. There are two holes drilled through in a line across the weight. There is a rectangular adhesive mark on the base of the weight.
