Small metal ornament. Bottle shaped ornament is made of a thin piece of hammered silver, oxidized to a dark grey colour, bent in half and shaped identically on both sides. Body of object is round and somewhat bulbous, convex on both front and back, with a long, narrow neck the top of which is the join between the two sides.

Byzantine coin made of electrum, of Andronicus II, 1282-1328. Obverse: bust of the Virgin Mary, facing front; she raises her hands on either side of her in prayer; she is surrounded by three groups of towers and city walls; to left, inscription says ‘CK’; to right, ‘ΠN’. Reverse: three figures; to left, Andronicus II, kneeling; to right, Michael IX, his son and co-emperor, kneeling; in the middle, Christ, standing and facing front, crowning both emperors; Andronicus II and Michael IX each wear a loros, an embroidered and jewelled scarf; Christ has a nimbus cruciger around his head, which is a cross within a halo; to left of nimbus cruciger, it says ‘IC’; to right, ‘XC’. The inscription on the reverse in translation says ‘Jesus Christ’. Coin is concave and is made of electrum.

Obverse: bust of Christ, facing front; he has a nimbus cruciger around his head, which is a cross within a halo; he wears a colobium, which is a religious tunic, and a pallium, which is a type of woolen cloak; he raises his right hand in benediction; in his left hand, he holds the Book of Gospels, which is decorated with dots; to left, inscription says ‘IC’; to right, ‘XC’. Reverse: bust of Michael VII, facing front; he wears a crown with cross and a loros, an embroidered and jewelled scarf; to left, he holds a labarum, a military standard; to right, he holds a globus cruciger; to left, inscription begins with a cross, and says ‘MIXAHΛ’; to right, ‘RACIE’. The inscription on the obverse in translation says ‘Jesus Christ’.

Puppet of a standing man wearing robes. The figure is made of wood overlaid with an elaborate suit of clothing that includes a light green silk under-tunic and dark green velvet coat edged in a panel of silk heavily embroidered with metallic thread. A canvas sash falls across his torso, embellished with metal sequins and a large jewel at centre. On his head is a rounded hat decorated in velvet, canvas and sequins. Purple pants clothe his legs. The puppet's feet are bare and painted dark brown, as are his hands and head. His face contains inset plastic eyes, a plastic gem earring hanging from the left ear, a mustache of hair, and a moveable chin. Thick string is attached to the hands, elbows, feet, knees and head, leading back to a wooden controller. Part b is a wooden stand with a thick base and decorative post.
