Collapsible fan consisting of folded silver paper that has four columns of Japanese characters painted in black, and which is supported by three black lacquered bamboo ribs and two outer, wide lacquered ribs. The reverse side of the paper is gold.

Flat FanN3.53

Flat fan made of finely-split bamboo flaring out from its attachment point to a long wooden handle painted black. Perimeter of fan is shaped like a double inverted U. The lower edge where the handle is attached is straight and at right angles to handle. Fan is covered with yellow lacquered paper on both sides. The area surrounding the handle on one side is covered with a black paper cut in a floral pattern, and the area immediately surrounding the handle is painted orange. The fan has a narrow edging of black paper. It is inserted into a split in the handle, which is flat and shaped like a pointed oval where it covers the fan, which is attached with a rivet.

Fan is covered with lacquered paper with a design of three swirls converging at the centre, coloured red, green, and yellow. It has a narrow edging of black paper. The fan is inserted into a split in the handle, which is flat and shaped like a pointed oval where it covers the fan, which is attached with two rivets. The shape of the handle is repeated with an outline of orange paint on the fan.

The fan is inserted into a split in the handle, which is flat and shaped like a pointed oval where it covers the fan, which is attached with two rivets. The area surrounding the handle is covered on each side with a black paper cut in a floral pattern. The area immediately surrounding the handle is painted orange.

Bamboo pipe, closed off naturally at one end, with a perforated filter inset in the other. A stylized zigzag pattern has been burned into the bamboo. A single hole has been bored into one side, near the closed off end.

Ear decorations. Two lengths of bamboo with two types of feathers and tufts of fur sticking out one end. Decorations are strung together with corded plant fibre. The bamboo has burnt etching in geometric patterns down the barrel.

Dart Quiver2516/3 a-b

Dart container with lid. Part a is the bamboo container with a concave base, and two bands of interwoven bamboo or rattan strips that have a connecting string. Attatched by these is a wooden implement with a carved design at the top and two rods at the bottom. It is also attached by wound bamboo strips at the bottom and top. Part b is a lid with the top hollowed out somewhat.

Dart Quiver2516/2 a-l

Bamboo dart container (part a) with a lid attached with string, containing darts and other items. Quiver has interwoven bamboo around lid and three bands around bamboo that attach a dark brown wooden implement to the side. A thin metal strip runs along side and bottom of container and both sides and top of lid. Single string is tied near centre of container. Inside container are parts b-l. Part b is an l-shaped object, wider at one end with a hole in it. Part c is a circular wooden coil of two layers with a hole in the middle. Part d is a twisted wooden piece with a thin rope through one of its two holes. Parts e and f are two cylindrical, hollow bamboo sticks. Part g is a dart-like object with a thin pointed tip and wider main body. Parts h-l are blowpipe darts, long and thin with tapering cylindrical shaped attachments at top.

Folding FanN3.55

A closing fan made of twenty-six flat bamboo ribs lacquered dark brown with tapering end pieces of natural colour bamboo. Edges of the ribs curve inwards just below the point where they reach the paper cover of the fan, which is white. Fan is held together with a brass rivet that has a small ring on one side. Rivet is set into wooden ends of a slightly darker colour, which flare outward at the base.
