Sake container. Cylindrical and slightly tapered from top to bottom, with a metal handle on the side. The container's staves are held together with twisted bands of bamboo, two at the top and three at the bottom, and lid has a plugged opening. A stopper (part b), also a tapered cylinder, fits into a hole in the top of the container near the edge. The top of the container is red lacquer with a black lacquer edge, and the sides as well as the bamboo are stained reddish-brown and coated in varnish.
A spear stick, missing the point. Long, hollow, cylindrical, light brown bamboo stick, divided into relatively equal sections by six darker sections, with a woven sleeve at one end. The three darker sections closest to the woven sleeve each have a horizontal band of grooved cross hatching along the top and the bottom while the next to below just have a horizontal band of grooved cross hatching along the top and the last one at the other end has none.
Seven long, dark wood prongs with carved barbs which alternate at either side that are held together and all lashed to a plain shaft along the lower portion with two braided rings of bamboo grass ? and at the base of the shaft with bamboo grass ? coiling.
Rectangular, box-like basket with herringbone weave interior. Exterior ends are covered with thick strips of bark, while sides are covered with horizontal strips of reed.
Pipe made from a section of bamboo with a mouthpiece made from a skinnier segment of bamboo protruding at an angle and a curved protrusion at the closed end of the pipe. The mouthpiece is decorated with incised bands and diagonal lines, and the shaft is decorated with incised bands of spiral and oval decoration as well as a band of scroll and leaf-like motifs inside triangular shapes at the closed end of the shaft. The lines of the design have been stained (?) black with red paint used to emphasize the design. Several plain black bands and lead bands on the shaft divide the bands of design.
Large paper lantern with bamboo frame. Loosely woven cylindrical frame with paper covering which slides up and down on a long handle. Metal candle spike in centre of base.
A hollow cylindrical bamboo piece that has a plain stopper, and a decorated band. The hollow cylindrical bamboo piece has arabesque designs. The stopper is quite long. The decorated band has a spiral design.
Plaited rectangular basket with a green wooden base, an attached lid, and a fibre carrying strap. The attached lid has a green wood strip at the top and a green painted strip around its base. There are also two smaller baskets attached inside.
Lid (part a) and base (part b) are plaited palm fibre in a hexagonal shape. Support frame for the lid and the base are three bamboo sticks crossed at sixty degree angles. Geometrical exterior design is created by overlaid coloured palm fibre. Dark and light brown.
Half coconut shell of an irregular circle shape. Rim has four rows of coiling attached by twelve strands which pierce the shell. Small circular plaited foot is attached with a coiled strand which zigzags over the woven section in a five-pointed star shape.
