A closing fan with twenty-seven inner ribs of split bamboo each with an abstract design burned on the base of each side and two parent ribs of bamboo also with burned designs while one end of each is set into a piece of dark rosewood through which is passed a brass rivet. Fan covered with light brown paper on one side and painted with a landscape scene and six characters. Upper edge is covered with very sticky cellophane tape.

Folding fan with thirty-three inner ribs of split bamboo and two bamboo parent ribs. Covered with very light brown paper, painted on one side with a river scene including a boat with two figures, bamboo and trees. Two Japanese characters in black and a two character seal in red ink. Black plastic rivet.

Folding fan with eleven inner ribs of split bamboo and two bamboo parent ribs. Face, front and back, made of paper printed green streaked in silver on one side and painted with three ginko leaves(?) in gold on other side.

Folding fan with thirteen inner ribs of split bamboo and two bamboo parent ribs. Covered on both sides with paper, one side white with shiny surface, the other two-thirds orange and one-third white, painted in silver and black with design of birds and branches. White plastic rivet.

A flat inverted u-shaped fan on a frame of very finely split bamboo radiating out from the centre of the flat edge at the handle. Each bamboo strip is bent back in a wide u-shape. Fan is covered on both sides with paper, and is lacquered red with a black edge, a small black design like an airplane, and a black design like a paper cut around the handle. Painted orange around the handle. Straight wood handle is painted black, split for insertion of the fan, and fastened with two tin rivets.

Folding fan with thirty-eight inner ribs of split bamboo and two aluminum parent ribs. Covered with silver/white paper on both sides, one side having an irregular green stripe along lower edge of paper, with light green and white squares enclosing dots, and other side having the same along the upper edge of the edge of the paper. White plastic rivet through which is threaded a grey/green silk cord 18cm long (double), knotted, on which is threaded a green plastic bead.

Covered with paper on both sides, one side white, the other white edges with silver, painted with orange butterfly over wave-like design in blue, light green and speckled silver and black. Threaded through rivet is a light green silk cord 8.5cm. long, (doubled) knotted, on which is strung an imitation pearl.

Bamboo staff with a carved wood top (part a) and base (part b). The top (part a) is removable and carved to a point, underneath which, there are eleven carved rings with the first, fourth, and seventh being quite elaborated. The top fits into the shaft with an uncarved cylindrical tang. Top third of the bamboo (part b) is plain with two woven bamboo rings. The bottom third is decorated in sixteen rings of geometric and floral representations in reddish brown. Base is carved and painted in white. String is at the bottom of the shaft, by the base.

Flat fan, ellipse shaped in outline, with frame of very fine split bamboo. Both sides covered with white paper with sparkly white whorl pattern, edges bound with silver paper. One side painted with two dragon flies in black and grey. Straight bamboo handle, natural colour.

Paper hand fan with a bifurcated bamboo handle, bamboo ribs, a flaring trapezoid-shape with one curved side, and light yellow trim. The design consists of a painted image in grey, brown and black depicting a landscape and a boat. Seal in red in bottom left-hand corner. Flat yellow silk cord inserted through cleft in handle.
