The item search helps you look through the thousands of items on the RRN and find exactly what you’re after. We’ve split the search into two parts, Results, and Search Filters. You’re in the results section right now. You can still perform “Quick searches” from the menu bar, but if you’re new to the RRN, click the Search tab above and use the exploratory search.

Tamer's headdress. Cedar bark headdress in the form of a rounded beak: two semi-circular flaps at front representing a beak with two long oval shapes that sit on top of beak, a hooked nose that projects out over the beak. Bunched cedar strips are attached at the top of the headdress frame with thick white string, and white string is wrapped around the base of the frame at the back. (Photos show the mask without the nose piece in 2009; nose repaired in 2021.)
Small rectangular tapa cloth. Solid rectangular border. Within, two rows of repeating designs - repeating narrow oval shapes, tapering to a point at each end, with repeating triangles within and flanked by petal shapes that curl inwards to the ovals. Only one side of cloth is painted.
Woven lacebark(?) bag. The bag is rectangular in shape, with the top slightly flaring out to the opening. Overall the bag is a light orange colour with diagonal bands of grey-green throughout creating a loosely plaid pattern. There are two thin straps attached at the top with tassels at each end.
Large rectangular lidded basket with handles and a tight weave. The basket body is deep with a wide mouth, narrowing to a smaller base, with imbricated diamond, triangle and arrow shaped patterns in colours of tan, dark brown and red-brown decorating all sides. The lid (part b) is flat and has a low profile. It is decorated with imbrication similar to that on the body. The basket has two half circle handles attached at the shorter sides, just under the rim (one reattached in 2019).
