Headdress1398/1

Wooden thunderbird headdress with an orange beak, red mouth and nostrils, and black, white and red ears and face. Top edge of headdress is ringed with braided brown and dyed, red cedar bark. Top of headdress between the two ears are tightly packed vertical strands of brown and red cedar bark and brown and white feathers.

Basket1566/3 a-b

Rectangular light brown woven basket with convex fitted lid. Horizontal bands of red and black colour run the lid, while repeating vertical, alternating red and black geometric designs encircle the sides of the basket. A small looped handle sits in the centre of the lid, with more broken or damaged loops around the sides of the lid and basket.

Pouch527/44

Heart-shaped pouch with opening at one of the lobes. Top flat is folded back and a miniature hat of braided bark and a heart pendant of leather are attached to centre of folded back part. A blue piece of cloth with a printed Green and gold maple leaf with the words, "Naas River," underneath is tucked into pouch; pendant has letters, "L.L." stitched onto front. Back of pouch has embroidered letters, "S.M.P."

Brown birch bark basket (part a) tapering from a rectangular bottom to an oval-shaped top. Bark is bent and laced into place, with a twig around the rim overcast with red dyed spruce root. A flat, fitted lid (part b) features a looped handle in its centre set atop two layers of oval birch bark panels with decorative, zigzagging borders. Both the basket and the lid have decorative cross-shaped stitches in dyed red and green spruce root on them at well-spaced intervals.

Round, brown basket with a flat bottom and slightly flared sides. Base is made from a circular birch bark panel with a white and brown maple leaf design of stitched porcupine quills in the centre. Two bands of coiled sweet grass with a single band of zigzagging open work between them comprise the sides; coiled sweet grass sides are all stitched with black thread.
