The apparatus consists of a light yellow-brown wood piece with a y-shape having two perpendicular sticks at either sides near the pointed end. This piece is connected with the fibre to a darker brown thin cylindrical piece that has a flattened rounded knob at one end and a tear-drop shaped knob at the other end with a conical base.

Tapa cloth with brown and black painted on natural ground. A grid-like border outlined with brown, runs around the outside and divides the designs into five rows. The words "OLEALAVAA" and "LILIA AND PEAUX MANUA" are incorporated into the border. The designs have geometric motifs within hand-drawn boxes. The edges are cut in a large zigzag pattern.

Basketry TrayA8214

Round basketry tray of simple interlocking coiled work (bifurcated stitches) with watch-spring base construction and two coiled rows separated off into handles. Overcast rim and partial imbrication. Twelve pointed star (red and white alternating with black) and a row of tri-colour chevron figures and band of staggered two row figures. Exterior has imbricated figures, the same as the outermost band of the interior pattern.

Bag woven from alternating grey-brown, red-brown and natural grass and bark in a geometric design. Two bands of woven grass(?) are attached at the top edges as handles, and there is a braided grass string threaded through loops near the top edge of the bag with short lengths of red-brown bark at either side of the bag.

Rectangular flared coiled basket (bifurcated stitches). Parallel slat base construction. Upper half of basket is beaded on three sides in horizontal rows of staggered cat-tail grass (?) and dark cherry bark. Lower half has vertical beading in red cherry bark. Fourth side has two vertical bands in red, and dark cherry bark. Beading on rim of short bands of red, and dark, cherry bark. Fibre string at each corner.

Sides and lid: wrapped twined weave with plain twined weave on lid. Sides: horizontal band top and bottom. Central figures of duck and pot with two flowers alternately. Lid: two sets of compound concentric bands with purple/natural plain twined weaving on cover. Lid is inset from sides. Colours: orange, tan.
