Basketry material. This is a length of corded basket material that is looped, and twisted at one end. This item does not match description on Baskerty Card, and at time of rehousing was not associated with any of the other objects listed on card( (ie. pebbles, shell, clay or fern). Basket remains were in (3) broken sections. The (2) sections with handles attached were laying against eachother, one on top of the other. The third was off to the side. I kept this configuration when I rehoused them. The associated stick mentioned in remarks (below) was not with object, and its location is unknown. Basketry fragments imbeded in clay. Rehoused two clay chunks with basketry fragments loosely attached in ethafoam insets. Along with one bag of clay debris. I removed and bagged two tags from object. One is a museum tag with site #, accn. #, and object #. The other tag appears to be older and only has object # on it (see archives). 06/29/04 B. Avery. This portion of a basket body was rehoused 03/22/04. Rehoused with it was an associated half a clam shell with an approximate 2.0 cm in diameter hole through the center. The basketry card for 45SK59B did not list the associated clam shell, however there is an original tag on the shell with #44 assoc., and the shell was with the basket. B.Avery.
