Braided trim is used to finish the rim of the basket on either side of the handles. Watch-spring coiled foundation and wood slat walls. Red cherry bark beading along top edge, and red cherry bark and white canary grass imbricated designs decorate basket.

Basket is decorated with similar designs on all four sides: a butterfly-like pattern on the upper portion of the basket, and three sections of alternating rows of red and black coloured cherry bark.

A star-like, red, black, and yellow-white figure is featured on the two longer sides, with a vertical band of red and yellow-white patterning on each of the ends. Rattle carved in the shape of a wooden bird. Two horizontal pieces are joined below the tail and wings. Four small holes on each side with narrow cord fastening top to bottom. Feathers are carved on the back. Narrow slit from top to bottom above head. Tail is the handle. There is bark wrapped around the end of the tail. The bird is painted black. The handle is unpainted.
