Cylindrical, brown wood handle that curves around at a forty degree angle. The end is curved into a y-shape and has a spur. The inside of the curve has a rectangular panel painted white and ochre. The handle is covered with braided fibre in alternating brown and black rings. There is a knob at the end of the handle.

Miniature Skirt3557/10

Rope skirt sealed inside a plastic bag; bag is secured shut with a paper manufacturer's label stapled over the opening. Skirt has a long waist band; one side has a looped end, other ends in a thick open braid. Along length of band are two sections of braided fringe; one section of fringe is longer than the other. Orange card inserted into bag, behind skirt, with image of people wearing the skirt and one of the skirt by itself; paragraph of text describe maker, material, and how it was worn.

Miniature Bag3557/5

Bilum sealed inside a plastic bag; bag is secured shut with a paper manufacturer's label stapled over the opening. Bilum is square-shaped with a wide strap. Made predominantly of naturally coloured fibres with five decorative bands across length. Bands are (from top to bottom): checkered pink, green "V" shapes, alternating pink and natural squares, alternating green and natural squares, and checkered pink. Blue card is inserted into bag, behind bilum, with image of person wearing a bag and one of the bilum itself; paragraph of text describe materials, and techniques on how it's made.

Dance Hat3532/7

Conical corroboree dance hat made of bark; exterior is completely wrapped in green-grey rope-like fibre. Front is decorated with a wide, vertical orange band, bordered with two white bands; small feathers throughout bands. A wooden rod is inserted through the top of the hat and has a large bundle of emu(?) feathers bound to it; feathers held in place with white strands, rod secured with white pigment along hat interior. Feathers are a mix of grey and dark brown.

Circular basket with flared opening. Walls slope into a convex base. Walls decorated with loosely woven stripes, alternating between brown-grey and light brown-yellow. The brown-grey stripes are wider than the light brown-yellow. Rim is dyed dark brown-red, base is covered in loosely woven brown-grey palm leaf. Patterns are visible on interior and exterior.

Fish Spear3393/7

A short, cylindical, wooden fish spear with two sets of barbs. The spear is painted black and comes to a sharp point. Both sets of barbs are arranged in a triangular fashion around the shaft of the spear, in groups of three. The barbs are straight, with four sides, and point backwards in the direction of the spear's user. They are secured by wound string, also painted black. Wrapped around the middle of the spear is a white, rectangular piece of bark cloth. A design has been painted onto the cloth in black, and consists of circles and dots in a radiating pattern.

Shield made from one piece of wood with a slightly raised carved geometric pattern in bands of zig-zags and arc shapes, both formed by squares. The piece of wood is curved overall and a bark fibre handle on the reverse is attached through two holes at the sides of the shield with knots in the front. The shield is stained black on the front.
