Composed of natural bone inserted and glued into a sinew-bound hollow wood sleeve. The length of bone tapers at both ends, and is darker at the exposed end.
Natural bone shaft, roughly circular. One edge is jagged, the other vaguely pointed.
Bone arrow has jagged-edged and double-barbed point. The shaft is slightly bowed, tapered at each end, and wrapped with sinew halfway along its length.
Knife (b) and sheath (a). The knife has a dark brown bone handle that fades to off-white where it joins the blade. The blade is sharpened on both sides and tapers to point. The sheath is laced together with sinew and has a loop at the top formed by a folded piece of leather.
Knife with hand made blade and hide sheath (part b). The knife blade is sharpened on both sides and has a carved bone and pewter handle that is drilled and riveted. Both the blade and handle are incised with an inscription. The sheath is laced with fibre.
Animal horn instrument. The horn is wrapped with leather at the base and carved with eight grooves at the tip. A hole is bored through to the centre from the outside midway between the leather and the tip.
Smoothly finished, rectangular bone balance with two sets of seven punctuated and recessed circles on both of the wide, flat sides. Traces of red pigment remain on one of the end circles. Each of the short, skinny ends has a hole drilled with fragments of fibre twine in them. One hole is drilled through the width of the bar in the very centre. The two other holes are symmetrically placed at the ends and run obliquely from one narrow edge to the adjacent narrow edge.
Gemsbok bone arrowhead with a wide curved triangular head that is double barbed. Natural light brown colour. Carved to taper opposite point.
Light brown bone, tapering at both ends. Marked darker in small patches.
Antelope (springbok) horn. Black and slender with several ridges circling its open end. The horn curves and tapers to a point at the opposite end.
