Dance DrumA8137 a-b

Circular drum (a) with attached drumstick (b). The drum hide is stretched over a circular wooden frame and secured by nails. It still has some fur remaining on one side. On the back, leather thongs with a bone secured in centre form a handgrip. An eagle with raised wings is painted in black, white, ygrey and yellow against an abstract background of blue, red, off-white and black. The drumstick consists of a a spherical head covered in off-white skin, a cylindrical wooden shaft, and a strip of brown leather fastened around the shaft with the ends split into several thinner strips.

A plain cane shaft. Base and end of the shaft are wrapped with thin cane strips. The point is plain wood decorated with an 11 cm. sleeve of brown and yellow grass. The 20 cm. tip of the point has six irregular barbs and the very tip is wrapped cane strips.

Spear ThrowerA7021

Intricately carved wooden spear thrower, or atlatl, with two finger holes at proximal end. A portion of the distal end is missing. The dorsal surface is incised with lines that function as a spear groove. Central form is a feather-crested lightning snake on a human figure, on the ventral surface as a weight. The figures have white inlaid eyes. The eye material appears to be bone, covered with a resin coating? The carved figure culminates in an unusual bifurcated tail. Inlaid eye is missing from right side of the human face.

A dark brown ladle that has a deep bowl and a small handle carved in the form of an animal head. The exterior of the bowl has a grooved v-line from the neck down along the sides. The animal's head has round, cream-coloured inset eyes (beads) surrounded by a plain carved circle, slight ears and forehead, a nose with nostrils, and a mouth.

Horn with a carved, tapered handle and a shallow bowl. Handle is carved in the shape of a person with mother of pearl inlay at stomach and hat; a yellowish inlay at eyes is unidentified. Bowl has design of incised lines that form two bands with one straight and one inverse scalloped edge.
