Light brown wood shaft with a slightly flared butt end that continues into an upturned angled knob end which is elbow-like, and randomly pierced with brass-headed tacks and one silver metal one. Both ends darkly coloured. Shaft's circumference above knob end is wrapped with brass wire and pierced with three brass nails. Knob's base has large hole at angle into centre.
Small dark brown, hardwood bottle (part a) and additional linked chain (part b). Part a has a bulbous shape with a narrow neck. Large vertical chips are on the flared mouth. One chain is connected to the lower half of the bottle with a nail. Rounded bottom. Longer brass chain (part b) associated with the object has been repaired.
Roughly burnished brass representation of a woman seated on back of owl. Around her body is a ring of brass coils made separately and attached to her back. Her crown is made of coils of brass and her dominant features, brow, eyes, ears, nose, lips, are determined by the thickness and malleability of the brass. Breasts are twisted circles of brass. Owl has sharp angular wings and tail. It is decorated around its body with loops of brass ridges. The woman has been glued at waist to owl.
Brass casting of casket in shape of mango seed. Does not stand free as both ends are pointed. Larger bottom is more than two thirds larger than the small, separately cast top (lid). Bottom has grid encircling circumference, perforated frequently, giving a lighter, more open effect. The tip of the lid has a hole through which string can be threaded. Both lid and bottom have hinge attachments on either side, one is permanently fixed and the other forms the latch.
Brass casting of small casket mounted on small stand cast as part of main body of object. Lid, with knob, was cast separately. Hinge joints were cast as part of both pieces, 2 loops at each side of base and 1 on each side of lid. Small brass rod is pushed into one of the sides to form simple working hinge, while other side may be secured as a latch. Base is embossed along entire circumference with vertical bands of circles.
Unburnished brass, stylistic representation of fish, item is hollow but remains of central black clay core can be seen on inside of head and large bifurcated tail. Grilled portion on both sides gives light see through effect. Mouth is expansive, extending horizontally from 1 side of solid brass head to the other. Dorsal fin is articulated with 4 tops and 4 pectoral fins, 2 on each side.
Light coloured brass representation of woman's head. Hair of brass with repeated lines drawn into bun at back of head. Neck flares out at upper shoulders then ends abruptly, forming wide solid base. Ears are S-shaped, wearing large trefoil earrings. Features are thick and large with circle designs on forehead, cheeks, and chin. Wears choker of small repeated circular designs.
Lightly burnished naturalistic rendering of a bull. The underside is open fretwork design exposing dark clay of original form. The legs are slightly irregular with no hooves and are solid cast. a long slender tail is supported by brass wire that appears to have been added after casting. The bull is wearing a choker of twisted brass coils and tiny pressed balls that ends in bell under throat. Trefoil designs are located all over back and blanket type decoration from end of hump to tail.
Light coloured brass representation of a scorpion. Tail is raised in the stinging position and claws are open. Form appears playful, with very fat, round body, disproportionately small claws, simplistic facial features of pressed circles of brass. Legs are joined to their pairs across back with raised brass ribbed design.
Cross pendant on a continuous chain without a clasp or an opening. The cross has four even arms and the top portion has triangular decoration with four holes and incised lines. The remainder of the cross is pierced by square openings and covered by 'x' incisions. Three arms have diamond-shaped tips with four incised circles divided by incised lines. The reverse side is plain with some minor incision marks.
