Hat3083/13

Round wool hat with shaped crown in the middle and straw in the interior. Top of hat has different embroidered motifs surrounded by sewn metal sequins and small plastic beads: four tall trees, two circular designs with leaf decorations, two triangular designs with three geometric motifs. The crown has four geometric designs in each quarter and a high pompom in the middle with five coins of five cents each sewn with metal threads. Ring band at rim with geometric sewn designs and protuded serrated decoration; red fabric background and light red cushion in the interior.

Knitted bag. Strap in light brown and yellow dyed threads, with pink and yellow pompoms at edges. Three pouches; two at front, one on either side. Peruvian, Bolivian, Argentinian, Spanish and Chilean coins from the late 1700's to early 1900's have been sewn with cotton threads on front side (left pouch: 18 small, right pouch: 11 medium and front: 13 large coins). The most common phrase on the coins is: "Libre por la constitucion" (free by the constitution). Six bands of geometric motifs (from top to bottom): flowers, triangles, waves, circles and diagonal lines.

Square woven bag with three vertical bands of geometric motifs, three square pouches, multicoloured fringes and a strap with wave decorations. Peruvian and Bolivian coins from the 1800's have been sewn with cotton threads on the front side. The most common engraved phrase on the coins is: "Libre por la constitucion" (free by the constitution). Plain weave textile technique.

Knitted bag with narrow opening, square shape in the middle, triangular at end (diagonal decoration), five bands and pompons around the edge in green, yellow, red, pink and orange dyed wool. Three pockets (two in one side and one in the other side) are rectangular in top body and triangular at ends with geometric designs forming a potato flower. Pockets have three pompons on each triangular end: (1) red and pink, (2) green and yellow and (3) yellow and orange (other side). Five bands with different motifs: eight circles around a main circle, wavy black design, humans holding hands with birds, birds in profile, and curved lines crossing each other.

Five bands of geometric motifs at both sides of bag: two of yellow-brown crosses in vertical position, two of triangular faces in black ground and horizontal lines at their bases and one of geometric motifs. Woven textile in brown, black and grey-brown camelid wool threads. Square designs arranged in a repetitive pattern. Each square has different motifs: fish, birds, horizontal lines, double squares and squares with "u" designs inside. Bands of plain weave technique (1x2) at both sides of square motifs and edged with embroidery tassels that end in black and brown tubular cross-knit strings (knotted at the end). Incomplete.
