Bentwood BoxA8229 a-b

Bentwood box with four painted panels, and an unpainted removable lid (part b) with sides that bevel inwards towards the bottom. Two of the opposite sides of the box have similar designs formed in continuous black primary form lines and red secondary lines. On an adjacent side is a bird figure with an ovoid body painted in black and red. The last side is painted with two ovoids joined by a line, all in red.

Tan basket with simple interlocking coiled work (bifurcated stitches), parallel slat base foundation with single reinforcement stitch, and an overcast rim looped to form two handles. Decorated with imbrication and beading. Imbricated discrete cross-shaped figures arranged in three horizontal rows in red cherry bark/cat-tail grass and in black-dyed bark/cat-tail grass staggered. Middle row in red cherry bark/cat-tail while the others are in black cherry bark/cat-tail.

Miniature Baby CarrierA7618

Small basketry cradle. The cradle is made with simple interlocking coiled work (bifurcated stitches), slat base construction and overcast rim. There are separate vertical panels but a continuous horizontal pattern. There is a narrow slit at the foot end of the cradle. The sides show a series of three vertical panels in red/white alternating with black/white in various checker patterns and of various height. There is a chevron beaded band along the top rim which extends down, overlapping some vertical sections in red and black cherry bark.

Small, basketry baby carrier, or cradle. Simple interlocking coiled work (bifurcated stitches) with slat base construction and overcast rim, beading and imbrication, narrow slit on end. Partial beading and imbrication, discrete vertical panels and continuous horizontal pattern. Sides: series of vertical panels in red/white alternating with black/white in various checker patterns (i.e. Has varying nos. Of stitches) with chevron beaded band at top rim; totally imbricated in cat-tail grass with some sections in red and black cherry bark.

Shallow bowl on pedastal coiled basketry (bifurcated stitches). Watch-spring base construction. Fully imbricated in grass, with horizontal rows of geometric stepped 'U' design, alternating between black and red cherry bark design, in two rows, third row is one row down from last. Stem is decorated with straight lines, foot is same pattern as on bowl.

Sectioned rectangular coiled storage basket (bifurcated stitches) with coiled handle at center divider. Parallel slat dividers and base construction, the latter with overcast, twisted edge on bottom. Inner division into three compartments. Fully imbricated in grass, with designs in dark bark. Designs show two square scrolls with goats on the long sides, and "M" shapes on each short end, also with goats. Some goats have accents in red bark. Rims of dividers, including handle, have grass beading.

Basket of simple interlocking coiled work (bifurcated stitches) with parallel slat base construction and radiating reinforcement stitches. Lower base has a foot of open loop work. Beading over the interior and the exterior of the upper basket. Beading (interior) over the entire bottom (3:3 ratio) with one beaded row per slat in staggered rows in black and red cherry bark. Upper rim is beaded in black and in red. Exterior is beaded in red (1:2 ratio) with three beaded rows per slat and staggered to give a zigzag over the three slat rows.
