Imbrication in repeating zig-zag tri-coloured bands of dark cherry bark, cat-tail grass ?, and red cherry bark, that start at rim and down to bottom. The lid, part (b) has same imbricated pattern radiating out from spiraled center that has cherry bark and cat-tail grass.

Leather hinges attach the lid to the basket along one side, while thongs are present on the lid and adjacent area of thebasket on the opposite side.

Two loops, formed from the top row, are present on each of the longer sides. Two overcast handles are attached across the width of the basket to these loops. The basket is decorated with four rows of imbrication: a red row followed by a black row and then two more red ones.
