Two sided oblong coiled basket with foot. Watch spring base construction. Imbricated design of large dark cherry bark crosses, filled-in with bear grass except center. Three on each side. Foot is beaded with red and black cherry bark. Perforations along rim indicate basket may have had a double looped border.

Model Totem PoleA2531

Small totem pole with three figures. Topmost is a bear figure with a black body, green arms and legs, a red snout and eyes and red dots covering the body. The middle figure is wolf-like with a red body, black arms and legs and green dots covering the body. The bottom figure is a bird with a green head and body covered with black dots and red and black striped wings. The word "Esquimalt" is roughly carved across the lowest portion of the pole. The pole sits on a black and brown base.

Cylindrical basket (a) with a convex, fitted lid (b); lid is held in place by a cedar bark flange of looped warp strands attached around the upper rim of the basket. Design has geometric motif of twelve dark blue parallelograms around the middle with two bands of red and purple at bottom. Lid has a design of red and dark blue geometric motifs and a thin, wrapped handle of orange and green.

Round pika-uu (trinket) basket (part a) with wrapped twined grass sides; plain twined base with centre cedar bark checker work. Design around middle is dark blue and yellow geometric between narrow bands of dark blue and yellow. There are five narrow bands around top and bottom edges of basket; green, yellow, purple, yellow and green. Lid (part b) is convex, wrapped twined grass faced with cedar flange loops which fit into basket. A purple knob in centre is surrounded by a wide purple band and narrow bands of dark blue and yellow. Design in centre of lid is dark blue and yellow geometric between narrow bands of dark blue and yellow.

Cylindrical basket (a) with rounded sides and a fitted lid (b); lid has a central knob-like handle and is held in place by a cedar flange attached around the upper rim of the basket. Design consists of two purple bands at bottom and top with seven purple geometric designs around the middle. Design on lid consists of four sets of six narrow bands of purple, light red and yellow, as well as four sets of five narrow purple bands; three narrow purple bands surround knob.

Repeated imagery around basket's sides of whaling canoes and thunderbirds atop whales in black, red, yellow, purple and green. Multicoloured swirling design around coloured knob in centre of lid, as well as bands of colour around the lid's sides: red, purple, green and yellow. Swamp grass over cedar bark foundation. Overlaid twining decoration in coloured swamp grass. Lid is held in place by a cedar bark flange attached around the upper rim of the basket.
