Wooden plaque and counter stick stained reddish brown. The plaque (part a) has a straight edge and curved sides which give it a half-circle shape. On the surface is carved a zoomorphic face (bear) with widely spaced eyes and a wide mouth with teeth. Several vertical lines extend from the top of the piece to the top of the mouth. The carving is two dimensional. The stick (part b) tapers to a point, and has two engraved lines at the wider end. The plaque has two drilled holes with braided twine running through.
Cedar root basket consisting of interlocking coiled work (bifurcated stitches); parallel slat base construction with wide slat foot. There is a braided coiled border; coiled openwork. Partial imbrication; continuous vertical zigzag designs. Alternation of vertical stripe bands with vertical zigzag bands. The first is in bullrush with red cherry or in bullrush with black and red. Zig-zag bands are tri-colour.
Rectangular, footed basket with slightly flaring sides and a flap-style lid secured with three ties. Simple interlocking coiled work (bifurcated stitches); back of basket is extended and folded to form a flap lid (parallel coils with edge of two coiled rows around it); foot of three coiled rows; twine ties. Total imbrication: series of vertical bands in black/red/bulrush repeating diagonal pattern, all against ground of bulrush. Pattern on lid is extension of pattern on back. Edge imbricated in bulrush; small patterns in red and in black. Colour: tan.
Flared rectanglular coiled work (bifurcated stitches)with foot. Parallel slat base and body construction: Imbricated design creating diamond design in negative space. Short sides have vertical pattern of diamonds on imbricated background of alternating cat-tail grass (?), dark and red cherry bark. Long sides have same design but two rows of diamonds. Foot is beaded in dark cherry bark. Rim is imbricated in cat-tail grass (?) and dark cherry bark.
Rectangular coiled basket (bifurcated stitches). Parallel base construction. Beaded parallel rows alternating between red or dark cherry bark, from rim to base.
Bentwood box with four painted panels, and an unpainted removable lid (part b) with sides that bevel inwards towards the bottom. Two of the opposite sides of the box have similar designs formed in continuous black primary form lines and red secondary lines. On an adjacent side is a bird figure with an ovoid body painted in black and red. The last side is painted with two ovoids joined by a line, all in red.
Naturalistic human head carved from wood and painted red and black, with traces of green. Large metal hook at the neck.
Rectangular basket with plaited base (two rows over and two rows under) and sides. The rim is reinforced with a slat inside and outside then overcast. Centre portion of the sides are woven with the outer portion of cedar bark. Design consists of eight horizontal red rows.
Tan basket with simple interlocking coiled work (bifurcated stitches), parallel slat base foundation with single reinforcement stitch, and an overcast rim looped to form two handles. Decorated with imbrication and beading. Imbricated discrete cross-shaped figures arranged in three horizontal rows in red cherry bark/cat-tail grass and in black-dyed bark/cat-tail grass staggered. Middle row in red cherry bark/cat-tail while the others are in black cherry bark/cat-tail.
Small basketry cradle. The cradle is made with simple interlocking coiled work (bifurcated stitches), slat base construction and overcast rim. There are separate vertical panels but a continuous horizontal pattern. There is a narrow slit at the foot end of the cradle. The sides show a series of three vertical panels in red/white alternating with black/white in various checker patterns and of various height. There is a chevron beaded band along the top rim which extends down, overlapping some vertical sections in red and black cherry bark.
