Head Ring3259/49

Head ring made of mountain goat wool and cedar bark. Thick strands of wool are wound around a bark core, with six bunches of shredded cedar bark attached around the ring. There are two loosely and one tightly tied sections of fabric. Small sections of the wool have been coloured pinkish-red and orange-red.

Basket with lid. Small oblong basket is tightly woven in an even weave, with a line of encircling images showing two large whales with a pair of pink birds to the side, and two boats with three sailors each on the opposite side. Dashes of pink and green circle the top of the basket and a line of green around the bottom. The lid (part b) shows two large birds to either side of the raised centre, surrounded by a pink and black line.

A light brown woven basketry hat. Done in a large weave, with plain cedar bark weaving across the flat top. Below the tapered top section, the hat gradually widens toward the flared rim.
