Plain, coarse twined, slope-sided basket with checker work base; braided rim with overlay on some warps forming a double warp decoration. Rectangular basket with cedar slat and root coil construction, with beading on three sides. Imbricated on four sides with vertical stripes of yellow-orange, brown and red coloured bark, and possibly grass? The wool tumpline has a zigzag pattern of pink, green and red, on a braided plant fibre (hemp?) strap; the strap is attached to the basket edge by cotton string in three places. The upper rim is wrapped.

Design consists of horizontally arranged bands or rings--some with designs of birds in red and diagonal stripes in green--separated by bands of openwork and solid bands of yellow and red. Rectangular basket (a) with rounded corners and a flat lid (b); lid is fitted flush to slightly flaring sides. Slat foundation of cedar joined together in split-stitched cedar root coiling. Sides decorated with imbrication resembling small rectangles which are placed in zigzag designs; there is a row each of red brown and black cherry bark flanking light yellow brown bark. Pattern horizontal on longest sides, vertical on ends. Other small design elements interspersed. Sturdy rim around base elevates basket. Imbricated and beaded upper basket edge in red brown cherry bark; lid with small loop handles, one at one end, the other, broken off (part c). Lid with beaded diamond patterns in red and black; faded. Base and top recessed rims are cracked and broken off.

Face with wide protruding mouth, large hooked nose, bulging eyes, and markedly protruding ears. Animal fur attached at chin, eyebrows, and top of head where three loops of cedar root (?) are also attached. Rectangular piece of black fur sewn to black cloth hangs from back; another light brown cloth nailed to back, as are green and light brown cords.

Rectangular coiled cedar root basket (part a) with rounded corners and a lid (part b). Slat foundation used for both the lid and the base, but bundles of cedar roots were used for the sides. Lid (part b) fitted flush to slightly flared sides from which single handle is attached, one end to each long side. Handle is composed of bundles reinforced with cotton cord. Sides of the basket (part a) are decorated with imbricated panels of light yellow brown grass with alternating red brown and black dyed cherry bark in four "V" motifs. Panels are outlined in black, two each on longest sides and one on each end. Sturdy rim around base edge elevates basket. Beading in red and black cherry bark on the lid (part b) top and sides with grass at the lid's rim.

Formed from a single plank by kerfing three corners. The fourth is sewn with rootlets. The outer surfaces are incised with fluted lines and crest designs which may represent bear. The surface has been dyed red with cinnabar (mercuric sulphide).
