Part (a) Rounded coiled basket (bifurcated stitches) and lid with knob, part (b). Imbricated design of four vertical bands with diagonal pattern in dark and red cherry bark separated by lines cat-tail grass (?). Rim of lid has overcast stitches, and is imbricated in alternating stitches of red and dark cherry bark with cat-tail grass (?) between. One row of squares, divided into red and dark cherry bark triangles separated by line of cat-tail grass (?). Knob is plain.

Cedar root splint foundation basket with twined elements of cedar root and design elements in aniline dyed cedar root. Plain twined openwork with the direction of weave changing every three rows; overcast rim and handle. Four weft strands are dyed black and are near the top, middle, bottom and the base of basket. Unevenly spaced are pink and one purple coloured warp strand.
