Triangular-shaped chert chipped stone tool, flared at one end with pitch? on both sides, labeled #351 (obscured). The artifact is pictured in Swanson 1962, p. 45, fig. 20 i and described as: "shouldered knife of flint, Cayuse II (resharpened while hafted). The object is also described in Swanson 1962, p. 48, F. Cayuse II Phase 11 as: "Shouldered point of flint, originally triangular, but resharpened while hafted. Point still has pitch on base, and was found near wooden handle No. 25. Length 1 in,; width, 1.25 in.; thickness, .25 in." The artifact is also described in Swanson 1962, p. 56, paragraph 4 as: "The unstemmed triangular points of Cayuse II were associated with a knife handle (Fig. 20i,k), and one of them (Fig. 20i) had been resharpened in the handle. The point had become steep-edged as a result, was removed from the handle, and presumably was to be replaced by a "new" unstemmed triangular point..." The artifact is described in Field Catalog Form #351: "5S1-1; knife or drill, AF 183." Artifact Record # 183 describes the artifact as a: "Drill or Knife; Associated with bones (?deer)--ribs; grass matting, ash." Block Card 5S1+1 lists one of the artifacts for this provenience as "Stone point (drill or knife) Art# 183." Z.Garcia Morales, 02/15/2011

Brown chert multiple-platcorm core. "45-KI-8/331" is written on one side in black ink.Field Catalog Form #331 lists the provenience as: Unit 3N1-2. The artifact is described as "2 flakes, charcoal, 1 piece bone, dung." To date, only 1 stone has been found. Artifact is associated with a Level Bag. (Pan, Yi, 2/25/2010)

Find #292 on the Field Catalog Form lists the provenience as: Unit B-Block B, Level 1, 8"(d), Description:2 2-z frags cordage &1 2-s cord [Note: this description does not match the artifact],Comments: "AF-162." Field #162 on the Field Notebook #1 lists "Unit: B, 8" below datum, 57" of NE, 17" of NW, Giesa, 7/20/53".
