The item search helps you look through the thousands of items on the RRN and find exactly what you’re after. We’ve split the search into two parts, Results, and Search Filters. You’re in the results section right now. You can still perform “Quick searches” from the menu bar, but if you’re new to the RRN, click the Search tab above and use the exploratory search.

Gift of Robert G. Eccless
Dark blue porcelain vase. A tall vase with a gold rimmed lip, short neck, and flaring round shoulder that narrows through the body to a small base. The exterior is a shiny dark blue; the interior and bottom are white. A gold seal is shown on the exterior just below the shoulder.
Large low-fired, unglazed and unpainted piki bowl. Mouth is wide, with sides gently curving in toward the small, round base. The terracotta bowl is covered inside and out in a light orange slip.
Large low-fired, non-glazed bowl, possibly a bread bowl or serving dish. Mouth is wide, with sides gently curving in toward the small, slightly rounded base. The upper half of the bowl is painted with a repeating feather motif in orange and brown on a white background. The lower half and interior of the bowl are dark orange, stone polished to a shine.
Large bowl with a bulging body. The wide midpoint recedes toward a narrow mouth at top and small base at bottom. The lower half of the bowl is painted orange and glazed, with no decoration. Around the midpoint is a strip of brown with a light coloured broken zigzag motif. Above this is painted a base colour of light brownish-grey, covered with linear designs in dark brown and orange. The interior is undecorated and unglazed.
Low-fired, unglazed clay olla. Mouth is wide, with a short neck and widely flaring shoulder. Body inclines toward a small, circular base with a slight punt. Painted decorations in black and orange cover the white underpaint, and the set repeats three times. Included are geometric patterns, solid lines of colour, fine stripes and dots. The bottom quarter of the pot is painted orange with no embellishment, as is the base. The interior is unpainted but for several inches of orange inside the lip.
Chancay figure pot. Body of pot is oblong, with a rounded base. Slight protrusions at front are embellished with paint as legs and arms, while small toes protrude near the base, and hands emerge from the chest holding a cup. The neck of the pot is tall and narrow and incorporates the figure’s face, with a pointed chin, protruding nose and slightly bulging eyes. Designs are painted in dark brown along chin, cheeks, and brows. Large ears with round earrings emerge from the sides, and above them are several similar, evenly spaced protuberances just under the rim.
