Bowl made of Light orange clay, fine-grained with a very large amount of medium-sized flakes of gold mica. Dark red, thick and fairly glossy glaze, but badly worn. Low ring foot, straight flaring walls end in plain slightly thickened rim.
Bird-shaped askos or vase consisting of brown clay with a cream slip. Fine-grained clay with small white limestone grits, a few dark grits and a small amount of fine mica. Black, thin matt paint. Bird has a short fat body and two short stumps for legs. Wings are indicated by painted decoration. Tubular spout on back. Vertical loop handle attached to spout and head. Broad bands of paint accent the body parts.
Figure of a horse and rider consisting of red clay with a cream slip. Buff, gritty fabric, full of white limestone particles and dark grits, giving the surface a speckled appearance. Black and red paint, thin and matt. Horse with applied tail and ears, human figure on back wears a conical headdress. He rests his hands on either side of the horse's head. Figures are modeled separately. Physical details of each figure rendered in paint as well as linear decoration on horse's neck.
Flask in the shape of a head, made of red-brown, fine-grained clay with a thick grey-white slip. Atop of a flat base is a modeled head wearing Corinthian helmet with a ram's head on each cheek piece. Two hang holes pierced through crest. Broad slightly upturned rim around opening.
Mug made of red, fine-grained, hard-fired clay; glaze over surface. Black paint. Low ring foot; globular body; short cylindrical neck; pinched rim to form a trefoil mouth; vertical grooved handle from rim to shoulder. Decoration consists of two bands on neck and at junction of neck and body. One horizontal group of circles on shoulder intersects with a vertical group on each face. Subsidiary decoration consists of small concentric circles placed in the field and lines on handle and around lip. In upper area opposite handle are three long crossing lines.
Apulian hydria. Red fine-grained body, dark brown wash; light brown, dark brown, brown/black, yellow, and white paint. Pedestal base. Flat foot; ovoid body with sloping shoulder and two horizontal handles; chimney neck with large everted rim, one vertical handle, neck to rim. Decoration: tongue pattern, lip and handles; palmette and laurel wreath with white berries. Main scene depicts bringing offerings to the tomb; draped female figures, holding a tambourine and a situla (basket), respectively, are shown on either side of a broad funerary stelae. Cracks cover body of jar as it has been reconstructed from fragments.
Jug made of light brown, very fine-grained clay. Red wash and black lustrous paint. Very articulated form imitating metal work. Flat base with one shallow groove on underside. Wide tubular lower portion with domed cap with protruding flat ledge, tall narrow neck, long curving spout, tall vertical handle rising above top of vessel. Base, lower portion of body, most of neck, spout and handle are solidly black. On domed top is a reclining female figure, wearing long chiton and jeweled collar. Hair is gathered into a large knot on top of head and partially covered with a headband. Left arm is extended behind her. Right arm is held in front of her with a metal bowl in right hand. Subsidiary decoration consists of a palmette at base of handle, stylized lotus blossoms on domed area and one floral decoration in white paint on tubular portion of body.
Drinking cup (skyphos). Buff, fine-grained clay with a few scattered small white limestone grits and a small amount of fine mica, very hard-fired. Dark red-brown to black, thin, matt paint. Low ring foot of very small diameter, deep body widens sharply towards top, gentle carination at junction of body and rim. Plain, upright rim. Two vertical loop handles attached just below top of rim extend well above the top of the rim. Paint is splashed onto most of interior of vessel and to body of exterior, with the rim left plain except in the area of one handle.
Bird-shaped askos made of fairly coarse-grained grey clay with dark impurities and a small amount of mica. Hard-fired. Black and red, thin, matte paint on a cream slip. Tubular, upright spout, basket handle attached to spout and upper part of body. Small projections on either side of body indicate wings. Eyes and beak highlighted with paint. On either side of the body there are broad bands of red paint and narrow parallel black lines.
Figure of a horse consisting of grey clay with a white slip. Buff, gritty clay, full of small white limestone particles and dark grits. Animal has two panniers on back. Tail, eyes, and ears modeled in relief. The bottom of each pannier is pierced through and plugged with an unidentifiable substance.
