Clay carving representing the Asantehene, on a rectangular base. Figure has a triangular face, prominent brows, oval-shaped eyes, wide nose, and thin incised mouth. He has semi-circular eyes protruding from his head, and is wearing a circular headdress with triangles on either sides; dots incised in rows across headdress. Male figure is depicted sitting on a high-backed chair, with a long cloth wrapped around him; cloth drapes over left shoulder, leaving right arm exposed. Cloth is decorated with long bands filled with dots. He has a wide strap across his right shoulder, decorated with stripes; large bracelet on his right wrist, decorated with incised diagonal lines. Bottom of carving is undecorated.
Whistling bird ceramic. Smoke painted in two tones with engraved design. Double-bird sculpture with small square shell inlay on the chest of each bird. Impressed circles across the chests of the birds, extending back down the wings, as well as in the centre on back. Each head has large round eyeholes, two small holes in the back of each head, and a single hole in the centre of the back. The base has the artist's engraved signature (and handwritten note by collector).
Ceramic bowl with gourd markings on surface. Shiny inclusions in the clay. Veritcal impressions along the inner edge of the rim. The clay is a light red-brown with swirls of a brighter red clay throughout.
Clay coffee pot with spout. The neck is decorated with vertical lines of dots, and a single horizontal line of dots where the neck attaches to the body. It has a small pouring spout, and a handle where the neck connects with the base. The body is like two bowls attached together, creating a ridge around the middle. The base is flat.
Round jug with flared rim above narrow shoulder. Coloured shades of pink and brown in horizontal strokes. Painted with geometric designs.
Round, handmade, clay pot with an oblong hole (4.5 cm le) just below the shoulder, on one side. The pot is mostly cream-coloured on the outside and part of the inside, with red-brown specks and a large black firing spot at the base. The inside is partly cream-coloured and partly reddish brown. The rim has been broken and repaired (approx. 1/3) with holes remaining at the lower neck under the repair.
Clay mortar, or bowl (part a), with a wooden pestle (part b). The bowl's inside surface is black and covered in a linear pattern: two crossed lines, with numerous concentric connecting lines running between the crossed lines. The clay has a dark stain over the upper surface and edge. The underside is unglazed or stained; the clay appears as a mottled pattern in brown and black. The pestle is hourglass shaped and made of plain light brown wood. There are two incised lines around the centre. (Note: one section at the rim of the bowl was broken and repaired.)
