This sediment sample was loaned to Alecia Spooner from 6/22/2007 to 9/18/2008 for paleobotanical analysis. The sample was halved using a Jones Splitter. One half was returned to the museum unanalyzed, and the other half was floated by Spooner to collect pollen, charcoal and other macrobotanicals for analysis. The recovery of small seeds in the sample was quantified by adding charred modern poppy seeds before flotation.
