Container (a) of silver-plated copper, with bronze cover (b) in which are inserted two birds (c-d). Container consists of irregularly shaped plate to one part of which is attached a vertical rim 1cm. high, enclosing a roughly triangular area. Cover is shaped like three rocks, with suggestion of waves around them; dark brown patina with gold coloured patches. Into holes in cover are inserted the legs of two birds made of shibuichi alloy, blue/grey colour. On underside of container are three Chinese characters 'Made by Maruyoshi'. Leg of bird (c) repaired with epoxy, December 13, 1977.
Whale vertebra formed into a pipe; hole drilled in the top and fitted with a copper bowl while a connecting hole is drilled in the back. Both sides cut and incised to depict the head of an animal; rectangular eyes inset with copper.
Flat, thick metal ornament with prong at one end at hole; wide 'bands' (2.5 x 3.5cm.) of squared off curves with pieces between cut out. Dark brown metal base shows where guilding has come off.

Near the centre of the headdress is a circle of cut-out triangles and other shapes (six total). Diagonal cut-outs at top. Textile pseudomorphs on outer right and bottom.
