Pair of rigid black shoes made of smooth-surfaced heavy, stiff leather dyed black with unfinished natural leather soles and small heels nailed on with iron nails. One iron cleat is attached at toe and one at the heel. Row of hand-stitching around outer edge of sole. Shoes are low at sides, higher at back and have upturned toes with a centre seam. Piping in the same colour as the outside around the upper edge. Inside of shoes is brown and part b has a brown insole, while the other is black with the stitching showing.
Ceremonial button blanket of black felt in a rectangular shape with a red felt border running all around a rectangular black background on which are sewn (as applique) four red designs: a killer whale at the top, and a grizzly bear at lower centre flanked by an eagle and a raven. White buttons are sewn all along the red applique designs. White buttons in triangular groups of three are also sewn along the outer edge of the black background. Two satin ties are sewn onto upper red border. Small copper plate (5.2cm x 1.6cm) with engraved inscription is sewn at reverse side of upper corner: "E. Gosnell & Son Copper & Carving Aiyansh, B.C."
A hand made oval lace doily. The main abstract design is consisting of a central four-part plant, surrounded by a narrow band linking to a flower at each end with four open flowers. This is surrounded by an oval design of thirty-two flowers with raised centres. The same design of small flowers with raised centres divides the doily into four sections as parts of ovals, each containing a flower. The four areas between these sections are filled with an identical flower.
A woven rectangular light brown-white fabric piece. Has a simple four-dot-petalled flower like pattern bordered by two bands that each have vertical stripes..
A rectangular off-white cloth. Has a small open-work border with four open work square designs, one in each corner. There is a rectangular open work design in the centre.
Kiwi feather cape. Brown and albino feathers mounted on a fibre base. The upper edge has a braided edge ending with a fringe. One end has one tie and the other has two ties.
Long, rectangular, woven textile with bands of alternating colours which repeat regularly. There is a red and orange short thread fringe on both end and a cotton label is machine sewn at one end. The label reads: ‘Quiche, 100% wool, made in Guatemala’. Some bands of colour have a metallic-like gold thread woven into them. The textile is pink, red, orange, yellow, green, black, blue and purple.
One layer of futon cover made in the katazome technique. The cover is dark blue with light white-grey chrysanthemum design. Undyed panel at one end of futon cover, light white-grey colour. Two small patches with kasuri or ikat design on inside surface.
Pictorial ikat futon cover. The cover is dark blue with light white-blue depictions of fans with floral motifs. The back is unlined.
Moose hair tufting in a floral design, on black velvet. Rectangular light-grey mat with oval centre cut-out that frames an arrangement of flowers, leaves and stems. Velvet is stapled onto a layer of matboard and foam core.
