Cut square of light brown cotton, woven fabric with a blue brocade design. The brocade area is in the shape of a step triangle and fills over half the fragment. Blue diamond shapes branching off oblique lines fill the step triangle in a regular way. The exact negative image fills the background space. One warp and one weft selvedge are present; the other two edges are cut.

A small circular five-lobed bronze mirror. Reflecting surface has eighteen Chinese (?) characters around the circumference. Non-reflecting surface has a scene of a pillared Korean building with four towers (?) that have pennants flying behind. At the centre of the non-reflecting side, there is raised handle through which ther is threaded a knotted white cotton cord. Characters read 'Commemoration of Opening of Korean Exposition, October 1, 1929'.

Scabbard (b) of two pieces of wood held together by raffia and cotton braided rope with four tassels. Brown upper border with raised square halfway where it is held in place by circular centre of four petal design. Brown curved border with linear design decoration.

The sleeves are very full with multi-coloured stripes at the wrists, concealing the hands. Wearing a red silk floor-length skirt. Two pieces of white flannel hemmed in light red-pink silk are glued to the paper backing.

There is a wider border with geometric motifs on both unfinished ends

Three-dimensional male humanoid puppet: large head (part b) fits into body with skirt (part a), and a control rod (part c) with a long shaft passes through the body and fits into the neck of the figure's head. The body has jointed arms, each with a long controlling rod attached. Large head and jointed arms attached to controlling rods. Red face with incised features, facing forward. Eyebrows, sideburns, moustache, lips and beard outlined in black; white eyes. Blue small-brimmed hat folded up at rear. Black banded crown of hat parted lengthwise at centre. White, black, and red bundle at base of head (kerchief?). Slim body and shoulders; fingers held flat, hands bent back at wrist. Upper torso covered in grey and black patterned cloth with black velvet (synthetic?) sewn to chest area. Pink lace beneath a green waistband. Long batik skirt with pattern in black, brown and beige.

The figure has a pink face with exaggerated features: bulging eyes with red pupils looking forward, red lips, and facial details in black. Small circular cap in green, red, and gold with tuft of black yarn at top of cap and gold strap beneath chin. Black torso, arms, and rear of head; wide shoulders and large belly with a small, circular mirror on belly that has several red and black strands of fabric or thread emerging from underneath. Arm to right tied with yellow synthetic twine (polypropylene?). One gold bracelet at each wrist; both hands held with fingers flat. Long checkered cotton skirt in grey and beige.

The body has jointed arms, each with a long controlling rod attached. The figure's left arm is not jointed at elbow and the fingers of the hand are held flat with the hand bent back. The figure's pink face looks upwards and has white eyes with red irises, also looking up, and red lips. Hair, sideburns, beard, and facial details are painted in black. Red round cap with diadem (jamang), and long sumping, black hairnet. Blue, white, and red curved decoration at crown. Slim torso with wide shoulders. Pink arms. Arm to figure's right has a red bracelet at wrist, and the hand is clenched with an extended thumb. Beige cotton top of two different textures (arms finer than torso). Five cloth buttons on chest, three at centre (red, green, beige) and two near shoulders (green to the figure's left, and to the figure's right is an unravelled button with a semi-transparent blue fabric over a yellow, red, black and white fabric). Skirt of plaid cotton in green, red, and yellow.
