Piece of medium coarse, painted, cotton cloth. Designs based on oblique lines and hooks are arranged in rows. Some of the major motifs are made up of dotted adjacent squares. All designs are outlined in dark brown and filled in with light brown. The light brown may have been red originally. One weft selvedge is present. Two warp edges are cut. A fourth side is irregularly deteriorated. Z-spun, two plied s yarns.
Rectangular textile fragment with brown painted interlocking birds, hooks and triangles arranged in diagonal rows on an off-white plain weave cotton. One weft selvedge present and 3 cut edges. Z-spun, 2 plied s yarns.
Piece of yellow (originally) slit tapestry border. Detailed bird forms, with a long hooked beak and comb-like tail feathers are attached to step triangles and repeated in alternating shades of reds and yellows. The bird has an outlined eye and this same form is repeated in the corners of the triangles. Narrow red borders outline the bird pattern band. The tapestry figures are not outlined. Z-spun, 2 plied s yarns; a few red threads z-spun.
A fragmentary slit tapestry border in two reds and yellow with attached fringe. The main band has interlocking red and yellow serpent bodies with serrated edges and black outlining. Narrow bands with interlocking hooks in red and light red are sewn to both sides and a separately woven red fringe is attached to one outer edge. More coarsely woven than most. Very thick warps of fringe are replied z after z-spin and 2 ply s.
An irregular cut piece of natural brown cotton with red and brown deer arranged alternately in a rectangular grid. The grid is defined by alternating red and brown lines in warp and weft directions. The deer is shown in profile, with tail, two antlers and a speckled body. Two original edges remain: a warp selvedge with heading cords and a weft selvedge that appears to be hemmed with ancient thread. Z-spun single in warp; s-spun singles in weft; z-spun, singles in weft; z-spun, two ply alpaca yarns.

Fragment of painted, plain weave cotton. The major motif is a frontal human with crescent shaped headdress. This figure is repeated in diagonally arranged squares. Adjacent diagonally stepped registers contain zigzags. A secondary motif of repeating profile birds occurs in a wide diagonal register between registers with zigzags. The original colours appear to have been red, blue and several shades of brown.
A rectangular fragment of plain weave double cloth in two natural shades of brown cotton. Overall oblique lattice with staff-holding, winged figures in each interstice. Figure wears a pointed hat with several down-turned attachments and is surrounded by three birds or fish. Border, parallel to warp selvedge, has hooks with zoomorphic heads. One weft selvedge with sewing remnants is attached to a small bit of an adjacent panel.
Two rectangular textile fragments of yellow and white slit tapestry with design bands separated by horizontal stripes (part a and b). The major design band, which appears on both fragments, is a series of chevrons with avian-feline(?) composites, triangles and interlocking spirals in adjacent chevrons. Part a, the larger fragment, also has a band of profile birds and another of interlocking spirals. A separately woven fringe is sewn to the warp selvedge. Fragments of blue sewing thread remain on the single weft selvedge.
A small, intact rectangle of brown fabric with four selvedges. Standing birds are repeated along diagonals, alternating and interlocking with similar birds on adjacent diagonals. 4 colours of supplementary warp and weft floats (white, blue, red and brown), define the figures against the brown, plain-woven background. The cloth is loosely woven and shows no signs of having been sewn to another fabric. Z-spun, s plied yarns.
