Stiff cotton belt with warp threads braided at each end. Weft yarns have been stiffened, creating ribs. Background is red with thin green stripe along each lengthwise edge. Multicoloured single-faced brocade pattern is of geometric designs and one human form, one green quetzal bird, and smaller yellow bird.

Costumed cloth hand puppet with carved, painted wooden head, hands and feet. Represents character of Bearded male (aggressive), Golden Rays style. Varnished white face, pinkish tinge under eyes; black, slightly bulbous painted hair. Red mouth, red spot on forehead, dots in eyes. Two moustache tuffs and full beard of black hair attached in channel at chin. Body (part a) is made of undyed cotton flaps, attached around head; attached white hands with holes through sideways, stuffed legs, white and green soled black boots. Stitched yellow silk robe (part b) with dark blue sleeves, waist and border trim, cotton lined. Front has orange trim outside blue, also on inside front (reinforced with paper). Sleeves edged in pink fur; rickrack on upper body; yellow, pink and white fur at edge. Two centre flaps, reinforced with paper, pasted cotton at black fur edged trim. Red, yellow and blue silk sections, decorated with metal sequins and silver foil wrapped thread. Silver 'thread', sequins and mirrors decorate borders, bodice, and back. Front, bottom panel; 'thread' flowers in silver, pink and green. Costume detachable; tied at neck.

Rod PuppetIb288 a-c

Three-dimensional male puppet: large head (part b) fits into body with apron and skirt (part a), and a control rod (part c) with a long shaft passes through the body and fits into the neck of the figure's head. The body has jointed arms, each with a long controlling rod attached. The figure's wooden head displays an elaborate gold and black painted headdress of the "shrimp's tongue" style, with gehung supit orang sweeping back and over to touch the top of the head. It is decorated with nine hair curls reaching the siyung jawi, protruding below the Garuda Mungkur with its short utah-utah. A long sumping stretches back from the decorated ear with its small hair curl. A diadem is located above the forehead. The face is cream-coloured with small slit eyes, a thin black moustache and small teeth; the head is bent forward. Red arm ornaments at wrists and biceps, and the fingers extend from each hand at a right angle to the wrists. Torso and arms have remains of gold paint. The figure wears a grey and dark blue-black apron interwoven with blue metallic thread and decorated with silver, red and purple sequins on the chest and collar. The skirt is off-white cotton.

Long, rectangular textile with selvedge edges and machine sewn central seam. The cotton fabric is detailed with horizontal stripes in red, green, blue, pink, yellow, orange and purple all of varying width. At one end, warp has separated, leaving gaps with red weft thread showing. There is a piece of yellow paper sewn on read that reads: ‘San Antonio’.

The body has jointed arms, each with a long controlling rod attached. Face dark pink, with gold ears and neck. Hair, sideburns, beard, moustache, and eyebrows black. Red irises. White upper teeth and fangs. Prominent upper lip and nose. Wearing white hat, gold and red trim, peaked brim. Cylindrical body shape ending below waist. Wearing cotton long-sleeved black tunic, red collar and suspenders, yellow belt, flowered yoke inset with off-white strip down front. Cotton one-piece skirt open in back, patterned brown, yellow, and black. Arms in two pieces jointed at elbow. Hands open. Holes in palms through which string passes attaching sticks.

The body has jointed arms, each with a long controlling rod attached. Pink face, black bushy eyebrows over an upward turned long nose. Open mouth showing white teeth and a single fang extending from each corner of the upper jaw; evident overbite. Black painted goatee on chin. Cap-like crown with six points: includes jamang, sumping and fringe of hair with one kendit. Crown is painted gold and red and has a Garuda Mungkur. Upper body and arms unclothed. Some chipped paint on chest. Two arms; jointed at elbow and shoulder with string and attached at each hand to a controlling wand. Ornaments on upper arm, hands face upwards. Wand is missing from the puppet's right arm. Batiked skirt in yellow with brown checkered pattern with a brown diamond at each joint.

Human-like figure with detachable head, body and rod. Pink face; eyes with red irises. Short pointed nose, red open mouth with overbite exposing an upper and lower fang in each corner of the mouth. Loose hanging black hair with pink foot ornament around each ear. Upper body is pink and uncovered; sagging breasts. Arms jointed at shoulder and elbow, attached with string. Hands upturned; controlling wands attached to hands with string. One arm cannot be fully extended. Skirt material has brown pattern with diamond and circles, blue and white centres.

Black gelung supit urang with sumping but without jamang, gold tipped at crown. Black eyebrows over large open eyes containing red irises, prominent downturned nose, six white teeth, red lips in overbite. Unclothed black upper body, chipping paint reveals gold underlay. Blue and green painted snake around neck. Upper and lower arm pieces joined at elbow and shoulder with string. Upper and lower carved arm ornaments, green with red centres. Wand attached through hand with string, one long sharp fingernail. Skin fold at waist. Beige fabric skirt with brown waist band. Diamond and roundel pattern inside which are red, green, and blue flowers of four petals with a blue circle in each.

The figure also has black eyebrows, moustache, and beard. Large gold eyeballs with red irises and black pupils. Two rows of gold teeth surrounded by red lips with small fangs on each side of the mouth. Red neck. Unpainted torso clothed in black, tight fitting shirt with pink circles on cloth on right and left sides of puppet, and blue circle on pink on left. Band of white at neck and cuffs, band of green down centre right with zigzag of gold. Beige band at waist, long skirt slit at back of brown, off-white, and blue batik pattern. Arms attached by string to torso, with joints at elbow connected by string.
