Headdress3289/14

Tall bulbous decorated headdress which tapers in towards the headband. The headdress is covered with black faux fur(?), then decorated with a large crest, and strips of red, light blue, dark blue and green ribbons. White faux fur is attached to the side. A thick twisted string of red, gold and green is looped around the headdress. There are two shorts black ties.

Headdress3289/13

Tall bulbous decorated headdress which tapers in towards the headband. The headdress is covered with black faux fur(?), then decorated with a large crest, and strips of red, white or green ribbon. Bright teal feathers extend from the top of the headdress and down one side. The opposite side has two tassels, and there is one tassel below the feathers. An ornate band goes over the top and is decorated by a row of fake "jewels". There are two shorts ties of red, white and green.

Blouse3289/24

Blouse made of four panels of purple fabric with white weft(?) threads visible in groups of three, attached with a vertical band of black and metallic teal, sides open and stitched in white, with a square opening for the head. Shoulders and bib are embroidered with black, teal diamond designs, and then decorated with red, teal, light blue, orange, light green, pink metallic (Lurex) designs. A thick band of black with metallic teal throughout runs across the hem.

Dress3289/47 a-b

Two part dress. Long dress (part a) and an underskirt (part b) with an open weave or lace fringe in pale teal at the bottom. The skirt is bell-shaped with an elastic waist. The embroidery includes images of pyramids, birds and people. The scene is tropical, lush, floral and verdant.

Blouse made of two panels of red and white fine pinstripe cotton base, folded in half, with a rectangular keyhole opening for the head. The sides and centre are stitched together with sections of coloured thread in pink, purple, dark blue, green and orange. The front and back bib is heavily decorated with embroidery, with different coloured geometric diamond designs on a red background, outlined with rectangles of solid colours. Metallic Lurex thread is used throughout. The armholes also each have a band of embroidery as well as a solid band horizontally across the middle. The bottom edge is unfinished. There are braided purple, blue, green and orange ties at the neckline.

Blouse made of ten sections of fabric pieced together, with a rectangular keyhole opening for the head. The sides are stitched together and small tapered sleeves are attached at the top. The front and back bib is heavily embroidered with raised wine red designs, and simple geometric designs in light pink, dark pink, light purple, orange and blue. The armholes also each have a band of embroidery, and loop-stitched around the edge in various bright colours. The bottom edge is unfinished. There are twisted pink with orange and dark blue thread ties at the neckline.

The front is heavily decorated with embroidered geometric and floral designs in bright green, yellow, light pink, dark pink, indigo, violet and light peach as well as blocks of these colours around the neck, armholes and across the abdomen. The neckline is also outlined with embroidered concentric zigzags. The bottom edge is hemmed with light pink stitching. There are twisted yellow ties at the keyhole neckline.
