The item search helps you look through the thousands of items on the RRN and find exactly what you’re after. We’ve split the search into two parts, Results, and Search Filters. You’re in the results section right now. You can still perform “Quick searches” from the menu bar, but if you’re new to the RRN, click the Search tab above and use the exploratory search.

Corn husk pouch or bag. Bag is rectangular, with one end folding overtop a pouch and securing with two leather ties. The interior of pouch and flap are woven cotton, while woven corn husk fibre creates the exterior layer. Dyed fibres are worked in, loose ends showing on the underside. Decorations are of triangular shapes and crossed lines, in purple, red, orange and yellow. The flap is edged with leather, and two hide straps are sewn to the backside.
Small beaded pouch. Bag is made of brown velvet edged in red cotton, with heavy beading in images of long leaves (oak?), other foliage, and flowers. The bag's shape is rounded with large scallops at the bottom hem. At top, two scalloped flaps fall to either side of the opening, one of which hides a small pocket. The inside of the pouch and underside of the flaps are lined in a stiff cotton. A small black strap of fabric is attached to the pouch at its top corners.
Birch bark basket with handle. Basket is constructed of a single piece of bark bent and cut to create walls that have been stitched together with thin strips of bark up both short sides. A thin reed of wood is strapped to the top by bark to form a lip. The exterior is embossed with cross shapes and swirls on the ends, and a large tree-like motif at centre on both sides. Scallops line the lip. The interior is undecorated. A wide handle of yellow-brown canvas is attached to the basket by thongs of leather, held together at centre by a twist of wire and tied on the interior. The strap's length can be modified by use of a metal loop.
