Red silk skirt with pleats and embroidery. Across the top is a wide cotton waistband with two loops. On the edges of the skirt are thick black borders with phoenix, lotus and peony motifs in white, dark and light blue. On the edges of the pleats are thin black borders with a gold floral trim. Between the pleats are panels with phoenix, dragon, bat, rectangular gold ornament and wave motifs in red, orange, yellow, blue, green and white on red ground. On the main front panel are dragon, swastika, bat, pair of rectangular and circular gold ornaments, scroll and musical stone motifs and the eight Buddhist symbols of good fortune. The inside is lined with pink silk.
Carved wooden, crooked beak headdress, or mask. The beak has large red, triangular shaped nostrils outlined with a black and white s-form. Running from the brow is a small central black frill that protrudes outward and curves inward to the centre tip of the beak and back into itself; decorated with white semi-circles. The mouth is red, flat and protruding. The bottom parts of the beaks are hinged with rectangular pieces of leather. The face is black with white detailing. The eyes are black and large, outlined in white and red on a white ovoid shaped ground; brow is black. The underside of the beak is black. The inside of the mask is hollow with the exception of a piece of fibre twine that helped articulate the beak. Attached to the top edge is a twist rope of red and white fabric. The top has many bundles of small stripes of cedar bark. Hanging from the back and bottom edges are long strips of cedar that would cover the wearer. The mask is painted black, white and red with Northwest Coast stylized forms.
Red skirt with pleats and embroidery. Across the top is a wide pink cotton waistband with three white buttons. A thin white tie is attached to a loop on the waistband. On the edges of the skirt and pleats are ecru borders, some with a wave pattern. Scattered on the front and back panels are peony and leaf motifs in pink, white, turquoise, purple, gray and black. The inside is unlined.
Blue hanten (袢纏, also written as 半天, 袢天, 半纏) with dyed designs. The designs feature a floral and a double circle motif in white on a blue ground. There is a wide green velvet band around the neck and partway down the centre opening. The tapered sleeves have a zigzag and dot pattern in brown on a white ground. The upper inside is lined with blue fabric.
Blue panel vest. The panels are woven from predominantly blue fabric with white and gray pieces. The vest is made of four woven panels, stitched together at the back, sides and top. An opening is left between the upper panel sides for the arms. The front is left open. The edges are edged with dark blue fabric. The inside upper back is made wider by a dark blue fabric square, decorated with white stitching in a zigzag motif.
Blue panel vest. The panels are woven from predominantly blue fabric with white, brown and gray pieces. The vest is made of four woven panels, stitched together at the back and top. The sides are connected by two blue fabric bands on either side. The front is left open. The edges are edged with dark blue fabric. The inside upper back is reinforced with a dark blue fabric square, decorated with white stitching in a diamond motif. The inside is unlined.
Maroon skirt with pleats and embroidery. Across the top is a wide cotton waistband with two loops. On the edges of the skirt are thick black borders with a white and black diamond trim. On the edges of the pleats are black borders. On the front and back are square sections with peach, ‘Buddha’s hand’ citron, fish, bat, vase, peony, and book motifs among others, in pink, red, blue, green and white on maroon ground. Scattered on the lower half of the skirt are flower and butterfly motifs. The inside is lined with green silk.
Small turquoise damask skirt with cotton waistband, centre slit and embroidery. The damask is woven containing a geometric and floral pattern. On the front are peony and bat motifs in red, orange, yellow, blue and white on turquoise ground. The border along the hem has peony and lotus motifs among others, in white, light and dark blue on black ground. The inside lining is pink silk.
Red tunic with side slits and side opening with a single tie. On the front centre is a figure riding a hoofed dragon in pink, blue and green. On the front, back and sleeves is a lotus motif in pink and green on a red ground. The neck and side borders have red flowers on a purple ground. All the edges are edged with a pink and white trim. The inside is lined with white cotton with a pink floral and circle pattern.
Black panels (part a-b) with pleats and embroidery. Across the top is a wide cotton waistband with three rows of frog closures. On the edges of the skirt are black borders with lotus, narcissus motifs and many leaves in blue and white. In the pleats are lotus, narcissus and prunus motifs in blue, white and gold. On the front and back are square panels with butterfly, peony, narcissus and lotus motifs in blue, white and gold. The inside is unlined.
