Blouse2615/10

Open-backed blouse with iridescent purple and grey patterned bodice, machine-stitched with red thread, and a white and red patterned breast piece interwoven with silver thread with small spots of dark green. Short sleeves are trimmed with silver lacy ribbon and a thick band of coarser cross-hatched white and red fabric interwoven with silver thread. The back is tied with two sets of red ties at the neck and across the back. The blouse is lined with a brown, black, green, turqhoise and orange patterned cotton fabric.

Head Cloth2615/7

Woman’s red tie-dyed head cloth, hand-dyed and hemmed on all sides. Cloth has a green tie-dyed stripe near the two shortest sides. The abstract designs on the main body of the cloth are formed exclusively by orange and flesh coloured globules with red centres. Both floral and bird shapes are prominant in these designs. Black dots appear throughout, as well as a few circular shapes formed from bunched black thread. Inscription in two opposing corners.

Make-Up Case811/14 a-d

Part a is a make-up case of gold and red thread over blue cloth. There are white and blue beads around the edge and purple tassel. A blue and orange striped string is wound around case to keep closed. The case is lined with red printed cloth and covered by a wrapping cloth (811/13). Part b is an applicator stick, wooden and cylindrical. Part c is a small square of a shiny, silver-coloured substance (mica?). Part d is a package of a black substance wrapped in white paper and tied with string.

Turban Cloth2615/4

Large rectangular turban cloth made from a gauze-like cotton fibre. Cloth is hemmed along two shortest ends, with a pink stripe around the border (several pinstripes added along shortest sides). Purple circular stamp mark and numerical(?) pen markings on one side. Vertical seam up the middle. Rough, uneven side edges.
